By far and away the best hotel in Timaru, that said I’m slightly biased as a big part of my childhood involved the Grosvenor… rooms are big and modern, don’t be fooled by the old school exterior, it just adds to the charm. Someone has had great fun with the artworks, the restaurant and staff are first class… better than the Hilton in Queenstown. Don’t look any further, highly recommended

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Great location. i was looking for something central with traditional charm - the hotel in its heyday must have really been something. Today, it's a much faded shadow, in desperate need of renovation, at least some paint on the internal doors and walls. There are obvious signs of some updates, such as the mishmash of interior design, like the Mondrian color blocks against the traditional old-worldly woodwork. A work in progress that has potential to develop.
