"Location is excellent. "
A very bad experience from 9.30pm till we booked out 9am next day. Due to a power failure of some sort we were subjected to a very loud noise from a generator below the William Jolly Bridge. We literally had NO sleep. The room in question is 217. Energex did not come to turn it off up until at least after9am Sunday 22nd. The receptionist was very polite and apologetic but what could she do. Not happy about this experience at all.

"Spar and Shower."
It is a pity that we did not know that the room contained a spar with an overhead shower. Had we have known (and we have stayed in other rooms in this establishment) we would have asked for another with walk-in shower. My wife who is slightly disabled cannot get into a spar - and the combination of spar and shower would be a big worry if she had a fall. We did not take the matter up with the staff as we had very limited time to get to our appointment. We will raise the matter in future. We would have liked this info at checkin.

"Great new hotel."
A little confusing finding the place with the address being Fleet Lane which is the rear and parking. The area is handy to the South Bank but not easy to navigate by car or on foot because of traffic and construction. this is still a really good option for quality, brand new accommodation close to town and not expensive. Our apartment had no view but that was fine. Really excellent helpful and friendly staff. Very modern interior well designed and stylish with owner apartments as well as hotel.

"Well appointed apartment but noisy"
Great follow up on reservation and information required closer to the time of stay. Located close to the convention center and other services (pubs, convenience supermarket), the apartment was roomy and well appointed. Great little cafe located at the base of the apartment complex. Friendly staff. Apartment is located on the corner of a busy intersection - this created a significant amount of traffic noise (don't think there is double glazing on windows) - if this is something you are not used to then would recommend asking for an apartment towards the back of the complex away from traffic. Also, security lacking at times for main door - sometimes locked after hours, sometimes not, although a fob key was required for access to accommodation floors.

"Very good value"
All pretty good for the price but the room I had the concrete floor would have been softer than the bed. The only disappointment really.

South Brisbane is one of the city’s oldest suburbs, with European settlements dating back as far as the mid-19th century. The area was predominantly industrial until the 1980s when it underwent a huge transformation as the city prepared to host the prestigious World Expo 88. Since then, the area has continued to be developed into Brisbane’s cultural entertainment precinct, with top attractions such as the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum, Science Centre and Gallery of Modern Art all located in South Bank alone.

A trip to South Brisbane isn’t complete without a walk along the river, where you can see spectacular views of the Brisbane CBD and the Treasury Casino, which is lit up in blue and pink every evening. Pack a picnic and make use of the barbecue facilities in the riverside parklands, or take a seat at a nice al fresco bistro (or pub) and enjoy the fresh air. Beat the heat at the man-made beach, complete with sand, palm trees and lifeguards! If you’re visiting on the weekend, check out the South Bank Lifestyle Market for an exciting range of crafts, homewares, designer fashion and delicious nibbles. South Brisbane really shines in September as the main venue for the Brisbane Festival, an annual event featuring live performances, awe-inspiring light shows and art displays.

The South Brisbane area also includes suburbs such as Woolloongabba, home to The Gabba, which hosts Brisbane’s top sporting events; West End, a bohemian community great for shopping and dining; and Kangaroo Point, an area popular for rock climbing, kayaking and other activities.

South Brisbane is just a quick walk from the CBD and is also a great starting point for your Brisbane adventure. Whether you want to catch a train, bus or even rent a bike, the area offers plenty of transportation options around the region and beyond. Sound like fun? Then book your South Brisbane hotel today!
