"Great location in Southbank"
I needed to be near the Convention Centre and it was opposite. There were dozens of great places to eat just a short distance away, as well as decent food in the hotel itself.

"Lovely hotel, close to hospital"
This hotel was so nice and lovely. Close to the bus station. Not far from Southbank, but the best thing of all was how close it was to the Mater Children's Hospital. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

"Great location"
We wanted accommodation at a reasonable price, in reasonable proximity to the Southbank Cultural Precinct where we were to see a show. We had a very comfortable walk to Southbank, with the added benefit of being in the heart of the wonderful West End area, with it's many dining options. The hotel offers great value for money. Highly recommended.

"Convenient to what we like"
A convenient destination close to Brisbane's premier arts precinct. This was our third stay, and we value its convenience to shops, such as IGA and not too far from the West End shops & cafes. As my wife has coeliac disease we value the gluten free options on the menu when we've had a busy day and decide to dine in the restaurant. Staff are always polite and helpful. The parking on site is a great asset when we've decided to hire a car for a few days.

"Ticks all the boxes"
Ideal location, excellent facilities, comfortable, spacious: just perfect for our needs. Great ambience. We cooked a meal for friends, sat on the balcony for drinks beforehand, then ate indoors. After they left, we washed and dried our clothes, and booked tickets for the next night's entertainment using the excellent wifi. We slept soundly in our peaceful and quiet apartment. Excellent value for money. We'll be returning!

"Walking distance to Southbank."
Southbank is a great spot for escape from Melbourne`s winter and I was able to walk there via quick look at the excellent Museum. Security of car and premises was excellent. Stairs can be a problem if you have climbing difficulties, as I did.

    Pocket Guide: South Brisbane

Love arts and culture? Then you’ll love South Brisbane, just across the river from the Brisbane CBD. This bustling area is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, so come and see what makes this area so special with our range of South Brisbane accommodation.

South Brisbane is one of the city’s oldest suburbs, with European settlements dating back as far as the mid-19th century. The area was predominantly industrial until the 1980s when it underwent a huge transformation as the city prepared to host the prestigious World Expo 88. Since then, the area has continued to be developed into Brisbane’s cultural entertainment precinct, with top attractions such as the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum, Science Centre and Gallery of Modern Art all located in South Bank alone.

A trip to South Brisbane isn’t complete without a walk along the river, where you can see spectacular views of the Brisbane CBD and the Treasury Casino, which is lit up in blue and pink every evening. Pack a picnic and make use of the barbecue facilities in the riverside parklands, or take a seat at a nice al fresco bistro (or pub) and enjoy the fresh air. Beat the heat at the man-made beach, complete with sand, palm trees and lifeguards! If you’re visiting on the weekend, check out the South Bank Lifestyle Market for an exciting range of crafts, homewares, designer fashion and delicious nibbles. South Brisbane really shines in September as the main venue for the Brisbane Festival, an annual event featuring live performances, awe-inspiring light shows and art displays.

The South Brisbane area also includes suburbs such as Woolloongabba, home to The Gabba, which hosts Brisbane’s top sporting events; West End, a bohemian community great for shopping and dining; and Kangaroo Point, an area popular for rock climbing, kayaking and other activities.

South Brisbane is just a quick walk from the CBD and is also a great starting point for your Brisbane adventure. Whether you want to catch a train, bus or even rent a bike, the area offers plenty of transportation options around the region and beyond. Sound like fun? Then book your South Brisbane hotel today!
