Okay for the price

Location was good and easy to get to activities but definitely needs some TLC. Curtains didn’t really “black out”, curtains themselves had some stains, handle inside the door came off in my hand as we were leaving, and the AC cover was busted, constantly coming off if you opened it. TV channel guide didn’t match the channels and some channels just didn’t have sound. Pillows are meh, very flat. Stains on sheets. Needs some updating.

We loved our stay at Candlewood Suites. The hotel is an easy walk from Grand Central, Times Square and so many other places - in fact, we never went everywhere on foot during our entire stay. The rooms are small but not tiny, and the kitchens are well equipped. A nice touch is you can borrow other kitchen gadgets and things from reception. Complimentary tea and coffee is available in the hotel lobby area, and snacks are also available for purchase. There are tons of eateries nearby. The hotel also boasts a laundry and small gym, plus the rooms had decent sized TVs with a few decent channels. The price was incredible, and the staff top notch. The only complaints I had are the rooms look a little tired in places, and the wifi on our floor (29) was a little erratic. The manager checked in on us by text message several times during our stay which was a very nice touch.

No daily housekeeping on 3 night stays

This is considered an "extended stay" hotel, though they offer shorter stays. I stayed for 3 nights. Little did Ii know that daily housekeeping like fresh towels and a made up bed were not included. This was not specified in the online description, and for over $200 per night, I expected more. I received "attitude" from front desk workers, and I won't be returning. I originally chose this hotel because we have a trip planned in Aug and I wanted to check out the suite and the room sizes. We are traveling with 5 people. I will not be choosing this hotel. If they can't appropriately staff and service the shorter stay rooms, they should not be offering shorter stays.
