"not hotels fault"
Had construction going at 7am much to our dismay. However upon questioning reception about the noise complaint, turns out the council authorised the construction for that early, hotel had no say. Wouldn't stay again until construction is finished.

"Overnight stay for a wedding"
Was clean ,staff very friendly we requested an early checkin due to an afternoon wedding we needed to get ready for and we were able to check in at 12 instead of 2pm. It was a short stay but comfortable and great surroundings and staff always helpful. The only thing that I did not like when filling out the form at reception I did not want to fill in the credit card Numbers and I said was not necessary as I had already paid for the room. I was asked to do I did and have felt uneasy about writing my credit card details. Regards Heather

"nice rooms"
I loved the rooms here, nice price for a comfortable place to stay.. but the pitfalls are - no queen beds - wifi not available in all rooms - no room service If you can deal with all that, the staff are super pleasant, the rooms were neat, clean and roomy enough and we did enjoy our stay.

"Charming hotel in a charming town"
We were warmly welcomed by our host, the verandah was just perfect for sitting and watching the world (what there is of it in this quiet town) go by. Central to everything, good advice on food options, the most delicious breakfast. Can't wait to go back.

"convenient place for family of 6"
very comfortable, breakfast very filling with many options available. The only shame was the group of younger people in the adjoining room who showed no care or respect for others and were noisy til about 4am

Needed a good clean motel close to Kurri for personal family business and the Station Hotel was excellent. Beautiful new motel amenities next to classic old pub with good pub food, drinks and friendly staff.

"Nice stay off highway"
This hotel is newly renovated and very clean. King size beds, a pool and a bar/restaurant on the grounds. Opposite a supermarket, fast food outlets and petrol station. Near a tennis club. The hotel is on the edge of the industrial area so there is not much around within walking distance. it's a perfect stopover if driving through ie Sydney to Brisbane. Otherwise it is a 10 minute drive to Maitland (which is so cute - must see!) or a half hour drive to the major vineyards. There is a coach stop right outside. We stayed there for a concert at Hope Estate. The bus took us straight from the hotel to the concert and back. $25 return pp.

    Accommodation In Maitland

The Hunter Valley region of New South Wales is famous for being wine country, with more than 150 wineries in the area to visit. Maitland is a colourful city on the banks of the Hunter River, which flows from the slopes of Mount Royal Range to the mouth of the Tasman Sea at Newcastle. Maitland is not only in the thick of the region but also a relaxing destination of its own where culture and history are always close at hand. In the mood for a glass of Hunter Semillon? Maybe a peek in an art gallery or a refreshing walk through nature? Book a stay in one of our Maitland hotels and you can do it all.

With a population close to 70,000, Maitland is a 166km road trip from Sydney and a 35km trip from Newcastle. In the past it was three separate towns – East Maitland, West Maitland and Morpeth, which were fused to become the city of Maitland in 1945. Once the main town of the Hunter region, it still sports a number of historic buildings. 1800s-style architecture lines areas like High Street and Ken Tubman Drive in town. You’ll have plenty of options to pick from if you’re looking for coffee or a meal: Maitland City Centre is an open-air shopping mall in the heart of the town with restaurants and cafes at the ready along with antique shops, fashion outlets and big name retailers like Kmart and Woolworths. For a look at Maitland’s vibrant arts scene, visit the Maitland Regional Art Gallery (MRAG) to see exhibitions from local and national artists.

Maitland Gaol, built in 1844, housed some of Australia’s worst criminals until it closed its doors in 1998. Now it’s open to the public, and you can learn about the history of the jail and some of its most infamous characters with a themed tour, a self-guided audio tour or even an overnight stay (if you dare). For more historical sightseeing, take a look at Grossman House on Church Street for a gander inside an authentic Victorian-era residence.

But don’t restrict your time in the Hunter to Maitland. There’s so much more to explore! Embark on a wine tour, play a game of golf or take a walk through one of the nearby national parks such as Yengo – there are heaps of activities. Book your Maitland hotel with us today and start hunting the Hunter!
