"Great location near Prado Museum."
Lovely weekend strolls through the Retiro and Botanical Gardens, also close to a number of the Art Museums such as the Prado. An easy walk to Sol And Plaza Mayor and enjoyed the food at San Miguel market. Very good restaurants within 10 minutes walk and well worth the effort to see the sights at night as the lighting is amazing.

    Pocket Guide: Madrid

Madrid is a contemporary modern city, infused with glory from its golden age in the sixteenth century when Felipe II elevated Madrid to Spain’s capital city in 1561. Madrid is a city that is ever evolving with a diverse range of sights and activities to experience and it also has the prestige of being the world’s capital for bullfighting. Our wide range of hotels in Madrid lets you enjoy all this dynamic metropolis has to offer.

What Madrid lacks in historic architecture, it’s compensated by its world famous museums and galleries, the top three are: the Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza. The Prado’s permanent collection of 9,000 paintings and 5,000 drawings includes works by Spanish and Italian masters – Goya, Titian and Botticelli. The Reina Sofia hosts a collection of the modern masters – Picasso, Dali and Miro and finally the Thyssen-Bornemisza traces the development of western art from gothic to twentieth century pop art.

Our hotels in Madrid are in great locations with easy access to The Royal Palace, one of the most impressive palaces in Europe with over 2000 rooms, 50 of which can be visited. The city also has beautiful plazas; enjoy exploring the area around Plaza Mayor and Plaza de Espana, and parks such as the Retiro Park complete with lakes, a rose garden, monuments, and the beautiful Palacio de Cristal. Our selection of cheap Madrid hotels means that you can afford to spend a bit more on Madrid’s great array of fine restaurants and tapas bars.
