I like the El Cortez, but when I booked through Expedia I was charged for Hotel Fees. When I checked in, I was charged an additional $29.00 for Hotel amenity fee. That wasn't clear to me on Expedia unless I just missed it. The agent at the desk said that Expedia cannot collect hotel amenity fees.

First day that won’t be our last

Our stay at the El Cortez was exactly what we needed. The amenities in our room and outside of our room made our trip all that much more enjoyable. The owner Kenny even took the time out of his day to stop and say hi twice during our stay. As well, the casino floor manager Adam was very attentive and friendly. In fact, all the staff at the El Cortez were friendly and outgoing, making our stay even more enjoyable. This was our first stay at your establishment and it definitely won’t be the last we look forward to coming back and enjoying your property Kaylyn and Mike.

Stay away from the pavilion tower

There were pubic hairs in the shower. The pillows were completely flat and lumpy it smelled like smoke. I don’t recommend staying in the pavilion. The towers are much nicer.

This is rated as an adult only location. If adults are screaming just outside your room like children and no one comes from security, it seems like children can be allowed. The rooms are filthy, don't forget to put shoes on to use the restroom at night, mice poop on the floor. Check in was easy.

I have stayed at El Cortez well over ten years and it has been nothing but great experiences. I do like that it is a small distance from what some may say is the “chaos” of the Fremont Experience area. It’s location is easily walkable and the new renovation is so nice. Always looking forward to the next stay!

Don’t do it

The room was not clean. The bathroom was dirty. The tub in the bathroom or shower in the bathroom was dirty. My toilet was broke. The bed was hard. This was one of the most horrible experiences I’ve ever had.
