When I arrived the electricity was going in and out so they were working off of generators and the lifts were down. My room was on the 3rd floor so I wasn’t going to carry suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. I left my bags at the front desk and they said they would bring them up when the lift was working. I just arrived after a 12 hour flight and just wanted to relax but all of my stuff was at the front desk. I waited almost 2 hours and finally went down to check and the lift was working so I brought up my bags. The room was nice with a comfortable bed.

I chose the Clontarf Castle because it was on our bucket list to stay in a castle. It is a beautiful, clean, updated hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay. It is located in the suburbs so it was inconvenient and expensive to taxi to/from Dublin to sightsee and meet up with our tour but it is a much nicer place to stay than the hotels I saw in Dublin City.

We enjoyed one night at Clontarf Castle, it was within a 30 min walk of the bus and train. Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our dinner at the pub was very enjoyable.

Breakfast was delicious, however for all 3 days we had breakfast they would ask us if we wanted coffee or tea, I would order a cappuccino and they wouldn’t bring it until my husband or I would ask a second time- all 3 days! The room was clean and the service was great! The castle was beautiful

Very expensive hotel and we had a nasty surprise. There was wedding in the hotel and we were not informed when we arrived. After returning from dinner at 10:30 pm we went to bed and the noise from the music at the wedding was atrocious. We could not sleep. When my wife complained we were offered free breakfast the next day!!!

We very much enjoyed our one-night stay. It was too windy and rainy to check out the property but the inside ambiance was warm and cozy. We found our room very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the Knight's Bar was just okay and service was a bit slow. Expected a bit more in that area for the money. Was very happy with the in-room breakfast we got before leaving. It arrived in time, was good value and tasted great.
