If I could give negative stars, I would. The Gibson Hotel in Dublin was by far the worst hotel I’ve stayed at during my trip to Ireland – and this is my 5th hotel here. Every other property I visited was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. The Gibson was the exact opposite. From the moment I arrived, the staff were cold, unhelpful, and unwelcoming. At check-in, I was handed a key with barely a word and simply pointed toward the lift. No offer to assist with luggage, no information about the hotel, no sense of hospitality whatsoever. Throughout my stay, whenever I passed through the lobby, staff either ignored me entirely or deliberately looked busy to avoid interacting. I even sat in the lobby for a while just observing, and it wasn’t just me – the staff treated all guests this way. Aloof, uninterested, and uncaring. Hospitality is supposed to be about warmth and service, but here it felt like guests were an inconvenience. This hotel was the least accommodating, least hospitable, and least welcoming of my entire trip, and it wasn’t even close. Ireland is known for its friendliness and warmth – but you will not find it here. Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else. I strongly do not recommend the Gibson Hotel.

The hotel was immaculately cleaned. It was welcoming and well laid out. Self check in/out was very user friendly. Room had everything you would need . Bed was sooo comfortable, nice bathroom and had tea/coffee facilities in the room. Common area in the hotel were well maintained and cleaned to a high standard. I travelled with my 8 year old daughter for a concert in the 3arena, which is directly across from the hotel which i found essential when.travelling with a child. We did not eat in the restaurant we choose to eat in 'rubys' which is a.few doors down and is delicious. Definitely would recommend the gibson in general but if visiting the 3arena its a must. Also my daughter really enjoyed the glass elevator.

The rooms are old, but clean. They have basic amenities, but you have to ask. They offer a hot breakfast buffet that has a small arrangement of food. The area is quiet and safe. It is close to public transit. Overall, it is alright for a short stay.

Blood stained duvet

The check-in process was very easy, the room was a good size - my first impression was good. However i discovered upon getting into bed that the duvet was blood stained - so much so that it could be seen through the duvet cover. The pillow was damp, and the extra pillows in the cupboard were soiled. When i called room service, it took 30 minutes for someone to bring a replacement duvet. While i appreciate that it was 1AM and there were likely less staff working, i would have imagined that something necessary for sleep would have been brought sooner. It's a shame as aside from this it would have been a great stay!

Good stay but not perfect

Really nice hotel, well located. I had a late check in at 23:30 and everything went smooth. Parking is €25 per night and not included. Breakfast was lovely and worth the money. Unfortunately there was no shampoo in the shower bottle which was annoying as they don’t have a seperate conditioner bottle so I had to just use the body wash. Also all the electrical sockets on one side of the room were not working. Nice hotel but expect a better overall experience for the price.

Great hotel near the ferry port

Comfortable and contemporary hotel near the ferry port - was great as we had an early morning ferry departure. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful and I would happily stay again

We loved the location of this property. There were many restaurants in the area and it was close to downtown and to public transport. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. However, sleeping was an issue. It was very hard to control the temperature and we were very hot at night. The beds were not comfortable. The mattress cover, sheet and pillow cases were all to small and I was continually having to remake the bed to get comfortable. Others in our group did not get their room cleaned or restocked with towels even once in 3 days. Our room was cleaned and restocked with towels once in 3 days. The room was noisy at night as people were moving furniture, maybe they had to remake their beds as well!! The comforter was very heavy and the pillows were very hard.

Very close to 3 Arena for concert. Food and drink options nearby. Paid parking available. They gave us a accessible room for some reason but it was fine. Not much nightlife around.
