    Accommodation In Hawaii

Although Hawaii is the “youngest” of the 50 United States, this lively archipelago boasts a rich history along with modern luxury and some good clean fun in the sun. While most travellers find Hawaii accommodation on one island and explore every beach and canyon it has to offer, we say go beach-hopping, because more is more. From the monuments in Honolulu and the wilderness preserves of Kauai to the seaside volcanoes of Hawaii (aka “The Big Island”), you won’t be lacking exciting activities or opportunities to be blissfully lazy.

Don’t be fooled by the rugged cliffs and secluded lagoons. You can take your pick from numerous hotels in Hawaii’s eight main islands, ranging from simple beach bungalows to luxurious resorts. To soak in some maritime history in Oahu, book accommodation near Pearl Harbor, which is within walking distance to several museums and memorials, as well as Aloha Stadium.

    Things to Do in Hawaii

Most travellers start in Honolulu—on the island of Oahu—a city with easy airport access, fascinating local and national history, and delicious eats all along the beachfront streets of Waikiki. We’re talking everything from juicy burgers to fresh seafood and mai tais galore—mai tai, your tai, everybody’s tai! A couple of islands to the east, Maui owns the bragging rights to Haleakala Crater, the rim of which sports unbeatable views of the surrounding forest. Just don’t fall in! When you can peel yourself away from Maui’s Ho’okipa Beach, remind yourself that bigger isn’t always better in Hawaii (just ask the indigenous fiery skipper butterfly). Still, the Big Island is a must-see; pack for a hike so you can visit the Akaka Falls State Park in Hilo and the Volcanoes National Park on the island’s southern coast. After that, if you’re not quite ready to trade togs for real clothes, float on over to Kauai, northwest of Oahu. This hibiscus-shaped island is dotted with accommodation in Hawaii’s secluded rainforests, where you can fall asleep to the sound of waterfalls.

    Getting To & Around Hawaii

While many islands have their own airport, Honolulu International Airport (HNL) is close to beautiful Hawaii hotels and welcomes heaps of intercontinental flights every day. Car hire (especially if you book it with Wotif) is a winning option if you’re not planning to visit multiple islands on one holiday. Rail service is available in Oahu and buses run through all the main islands. Otherwise, you can hail a cab and explore all the top neighbourhoods on foot. To hop from island to island, catch a ferry and enjoy the views as you float by…but first you’ve got to book those flights to Hawaii!

    Best Time to Visit Hawaii

With very little variation in its gorgeous weather, Hawaii is a great choice year-round, but the busiest time is June through to August. If you like, skip the tourist crowds but not the festivals, which fill the island state’s calendar from the Honolulu Festival in March to Kauai’s Festival of Lights in December.

Ready for a Hawaii holiday, but not sure how you can do it all? When you’re wondering how, think Wotif. We’ve found sweet deals on airfares and accommodation, so you can mix, match and bundle the perfect tropical trip.

    "A dream holiday"
We arrived at the Hilton from Melbourne early in the morning. We had no problems getting into our room as we were earlier . We enjoyed our stay here, it was a grand holiday experience, we felt safe and welcomed, our privacy was also respected. It is our 50th wedding anniversary year and also our son and fiancé were married while we were there. Certainly a grand trip with good memories.....Liz

    "Great hotel and fantastic location"
It was our first time in Hawaii and found Waikiki and the Sheraton in particular very conducive to relaxing, although many activities can be found if you desire. The colour of the ocean was to be seen to be believed. Most of our stay was spent in the ocean, surfing, learning to SUP, or just sit beside it, cocktail in hand. We did venture to the Diamond Head crater to climb to the lookout, took a tour around the island and of course no trip to Hawaii is complete without a visit to Pearl Harbour. A very sombre experience. The Polynesian Cultural Centre is also a must-see. Hawaii is definately a destination in itself

"Staff great, excessive charges not so great!"
Enjoyed our stay but felt some of the additional charges like $6 room service delivery fee a bit cheeky. The hard sell by the timeshare sales guys was tiring and thus we avoided making eye contact with any staff for fear of getting the pitch! Was really quiet kids wise which was awesome. The guests bagging a chair at 7 only to return 4 hours later is common. Would recommend.

"Excellent location and facilities but tired staff "
The hotel offers excellent facilities and has a great location. The concierge staff were excellent but the attitude, patience and general abruptness of the front desk staff and restaurant staff was unacceptable especially when you paying over $500 per night for accomodation. Whilst we still enjoyed our overall experience at the Westin you could not help but feel that the staff were tired and perhaps needed fresh new personalities.
