The hotel was beautiful! The amenities and restaurants were top notch, but there are only three restaurants on site - one of which is very spendy so you’ll likely not dine there nightly…this leaves really two places for dinner if you’ll stay as long as we did (7 days). Don’t let other reviews about the beach deter you, we loved the beach. The seaweed was there but not a big deal and the water was so nice and warm. We went daily :) The staff were honestly the best part about the stay, they were some of the most (if not the most) accommodating group of people I’ve encountered at a hotel. The level of attention and enthusiasm during our stay was just incredible. Thank you especially to Antonio the amazing bellman, Karen at the concierge, Patricia (Patty) out in the pool area and Irvin at Jao. You all went the extra mile always. We appreciate you making our stay so enjoyable. Thank you!

Everything was great, except there was no shade at the pool unless you rented a cabana for $200. There was a ton of weeds on the beach. Beautiful property.

Property is beautiful and we tried all the restaurants, presentation and food was exceptional. It’s quiet and a 20 minute cab ride into Cancun if you want to explore further. Our room faced the ocean as most of them are Ocean front. The rooms are well appointed and a large shower that opens up to a plunge pool. It’s a very romantic hotel and we have stayed at many Waldorfs around the world, and we have never been disappointed. I read reviews about how expensive the food was, which I found was reasonable for the quality and for the Waldorf. The beach is walkable and the Ocean is not clear blue waters, but it’s private and the pools at the hotel make up for it. We enjoyed our stay but if you want variety and more stimulation this may not be the place to stay. For us it was about tranquility, sun and just enjoying the luxury experience of the Waldorf.

The Waldorf Astoria Cancun is hands down the best hotel in Cancun, perfect for anyone looking to relax and unwind. Just a quick 20-30 minute drive from the airport, the resort feels like a true escape—far from the crowds and noise. The atmosphere is serene, the amenities are top-notch, and the service is truly exceptional. I haven’t heard a single guest complain about anything! A special shoutout to Francisco at J’AO for the amazing dining experience, Marcus for keeping our room immaculate every day, and Julio by the pool for his outstanding service. Whether you’re looking for luxury, comfort, or pure relaxation, this is the place to be. Can’t wait to return!

The lobby staff was excellent, helping with our luggage and transportation the whole week. We had a swim up room and the pool was FREEZING cold with no way to be heated. There is a tiny plunge pool that could be heated, but it only fits 2 people comfortably. At JAO, we had the guac appetizer (delicious), fish beef tacos (underwhelming), especially for being over $30 USD for 3 small tacos. We were 1 of 3 tables and service was extremely slow… took 20 minutes just to get our drinks. The pool consistently had the best service-10/10 everyday. However, we ordrered regular margs ($19 USD) with reposado tequila. We werfe charged a ~$3 upgrade per drink for the repo, AND each drink had an additional “prep fee” of ~$5 USD. Scam- Makes zero sense. For room service we ordered 2 “prime” burgers (a staggering $34 each) and fettuccine ($19) add shrimp ($18). All items were horrible. The pasta and shrimp tasted like cardboard, unseasoned. The burger was NOT “prime” quality and completely burnt. A few bites in, we called and had them remove it and refund us the money, which they did politely. That night, at 1:30 am as we are trying to sleep, this awful loud sound started roaring outside. They were power washing near the pool. Why on earth would you choose that time to do it? Chaya had the slowest/worst service and food was mediocre.
