Excellence Riviera Cancun was absolutely wonderful. The spa was the most indulgent and relaxing spa experience I've ever had. The food was impeccable, and they were so careful with my food allergies (Gluten & Dairy). The room was spotless, a suite, and on top of housekeeping they offered turndown service. It's very safe, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the entertainment is top notch (Silent Disco, Karaoke, live Singers and Bands, Burlesque Show who's dancers were classically trained, the water acro show, New Year's Party). Access to the beach was lovely, the pools were very clean, and poolside drinks were great. I cannot wait to patron again (hopefully very soon)!

We were greeted with champagne and cold cloths - we were able to upgrade our package to include the Excellence Club. I would recommend booking a room in the club side to save $$. It was well worth it. Our room was very clean - we used room service every morning for our coffee and pasteries. I recommend ordering when you get there. Set a time you want it and have them place it in the Box so not to wake you up. It’s nice to sleep in and wake up to. We didn’t make reservations at any of the restaurants - I’d recommend getting to them early to avoid a 45 minute wait. The drinks were great! The food at most of the restaurants was tasty. The service at the pool was excellent!!! Over all highly recommend The Excellence Resort!

The resort compared to other resorts was nice, just not the level of service or hospitality that we have experienced in other resorts in the same region. I would recommend staying at another, newer resort. The service we received was dependent on who we asked as to what answer we would get or if they would provide the service. Minor example: I ordered iced tea one day and it was not an issue. The following day, I ordered the same thing and they were adamant they did not have it. When I explained that I had gotten it in the past, I was given a lot of attitude. While minor, this happened multiple times during our stay at the resort. We also paid for an excellence club upgrade, which definitely was NOT worth the money. We were told the upgrade came with a butler on the resort, which wasn’t true. There’s only one pool you can access for excellence club and the “top shelf” liquor you get with the package is only in one area/bar of the resort. So if you want top shelf at any other restaurant, pool, or bar, it’s not possible and they won’t provide it. Access to the excellence club restaurant price was pointless because there was a 1.5-2 hour wait every night. None of the resort restaurants take reservations either which means you’ll be waiting for a table or walking around trying to find a place to eat that doesn’t have a several hour wait unless you get there right when they open at 6pm. Buffet is only for breakfast and they do not have a full buffet for lunch or dinner, either

Wonderful experience. Would have liked the hot tub to be a bit warmer but this was inconsequential. We had a really great time. Possibly the best place I've been to in Cancun and I have been there over twenty times experiencing a new club each time.

Pros: employees service. They work their butt off and try their hardest to make sure you have a great time. There are plenty of pools to choose from with different vibes. There are lots of beach chairs (pool chairs only if you wake up before 7). Every dinner we had was very delightful food. Breakfast buffet had a great variety (but same variety every day). Guacamole everywhere was delicious! Cons: room is very humid and uncomfortable. Also wear and tear in many areas. Also worst sheets ever. And you hear the entire DJ party til 11pm so if you want sleep you can’t. Staff were great but there were not enough of them. Every dinner we waited more than 30 minutes And this was with many empty tables. we can only assume there is not enough staff to man all the tables. don’t sell out your hotel if you don’t have enough staff to service the people. One last negative came at the end of our trip where we realized this place values money and the “bottom line” rather than their guests. we had checked out & we got notification that our flight was cancelled. All before we left the property. We went to concierge he said the only room was the exact one we just had but MORE money than we originally paid saying “it’s high demand season”. He didn’t even try to at least give us the room for the same price we paid for the other nights. at 1pm that room wasn’t getting sold that night anyway. Comp us something and I’d been inclined to stay loyal to the excellence brand when traveling.

Overall the experience was quite good. The food and facilities very good. Two blemishes: the fact that everything was on THE APP! Number one it wasn't and people go on vacation to get away from phones not to have to carry them around for everything including restaurant menus; second our room was not serviced until two to three o'clock daily so we spent most of every days amidst used dishes and towels and unmade beds.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We just returned from Excellence Riviera Cancun, and I truly can’t say enough about the experience. The staff was absolutely top-notch—every single person was kind, smiling, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. The level of service we received was exceptional from start to finish. The resort itself was spotless and beautifully maintained. Everyone we interacted with was professional, warm, and spoke excellent English, which made everything seamless and comfortable. The beach was stunning, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the drinks were truly top-shelf. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an unforgettable, luxury, all-inclusive experience. The staff alone makes this place extraordinary—we will absolutely be back.

Highly recommend this resort. It's not the quietest at night, but its clean... the staff is professional and friendly. The amenities are gorgeous, and plentiful. Food, drinks and snacks abundantly flow daily. We used USA travel for shuttle to and from airport, and entrance and exit from resort was easy and friendly. I did a mind, body, soul full body massage during my stay and it was wonderful. We visited during December 2025, and the beach there was dark, murky, and full of seaweed... so if you’re coming for blue beautiful clear water, do research prior to. I will definitely utilize Excellence resorts in the future.
