My husband and I had fun, they have a nice activities every night. Property is a Excellent. Love the room it was so big and clean. 24 hrs. room service. Hope they would have more additional gluten free food for my husband but overall it was Perfect vacation.

We really wanted to love this resort… We have really enjoyed both EOB and EEC with EEC being our favorite! The food and staff were Excellence quality, but the property is dated. The room was VERY SLIPPERY even with the room as cold as we could get it (67 degrees F). We used all towels and slippers given to us and still my husband fell and fracture dislocated his wrist getting out of the shower. This caused us to need the on site MD… She was nice, but not at all prepared with any supplies. We had to pay her 170 USD to do nothing but call a taxi for us to go to the Cancun ED which was very nice, but expensive (3000 USD)…. The taxi cost us 150 USD….. The areas around the pools are very slippery as well. I fell before even having a chance to have a drink and we saw several other people fall as well. The EC area had little to no shade, and multiple chair areas did not have functioning umbrellas. I think property needs to be temporarily closed and have several updates made to keep up with the Excellence brand. The beach was full of seasonal seaweed, but that is not the fault of the resort…. In fact they did a fantastic job trying to keep it clean and the smell to a minimum. I wouldn’t stay here again, but it would not keep me from visiting other Excellence properties.

The excellence resort is a great place for family gathering or couples get a aways. The service from Top to bottom was great. The staff were super friendly & worked very hard to keep everyone happy. I would definitely go back.

Beautiful hotel, clean, pleasant hard working employees. Food was great. I love the Martini bar. No fault of hotel but seaweed/sargassam is horrible but the pools make up for lack of swimmable beach. I love the lazy float pool. One recommendation in the room is to place a strip (maybe a glow strip for night time) on the bedroom step down.

Not it. Third time in Cancun and The Excellence was everything but Excellent. I suggest if your under the age of 65 to stay elsewhere.

Excellence is a beautiful property. However, this property is VERY laid back and down right quiet like a library. I visited with a group of 6 (middle age professionals in their 50’s) and when we laughed while having a good time, I felt like we were a disturbing the library. The environment is definitely for those who want a low key energy and activity during the daytime. The DJ experience and daily volleyball games were the highlights of the visit. There was also a daily poker game. The food was ok and is always subjective to personal taste and preference. But nearly all the cooked to order food we received was cold!!! The Grille is a steakhouse and the steaks were even served lukewarm. I ordered medium-well and it was cooked well done. The waiter offered to fix it, but I declined because it was so late and we had already waited for so long. They fixed me a new meal anyway and the steak was prepared as originally requested. I really appreciated this effort to go the extra mile. It was delicious!! I wish this kinda effort was put forth the first time throughout the resort. If you’re looking for a laidback resort, in a remote area, this is for you! If you’d like more excitement and activities, and may want to venture off the resort, this will not satisfy your appetite.

The property was beautiful, we loved the lazy pool. The food was mediocre, most of our meals were not warm and the food wasn’t good. 60 percent of the staff wasn’t friendly. This resort is made for honeymooners and older adults. We found the resort to be very boring. Young and middle aged people beware. Also the seaweed smell was strong and unpleasant at times. I wouldn’t visit again.

This was a beautiful property and the staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly. The pool was my favorite part and we had such a beautiful view of it from our room. We went during sargassum season so the beaches weren’t usable and there was a strong bay smell on some days but the rest of the resort was so beautiful you didn’t even need the beach! I would definitely come back.
