Service was horrendous - felt like a 3* resort AT MOST. Everything was difficult. They couldn’t honor our rooms at check-in. They wanted us to change rooms during our 5 night stay. There were basically no prime dinner reservations the entire length of our stay. All the prime pool chairs were reserved for the entire time. And the worst part is the resort was empty!! Empty restaurants we couldn’t eat in. Empty chairs we couldn’t use. All the “nice touches” in their list of included amenities - you had to either request or they told you had to pay for. We complained to Expedia but the hotel insisted all of the above was part of their policies - none of which were listed on the Expedia listing. Expedia tries to work with them, and they insisted they would follow up with us to address the issues - but never did. Everything we asked for - they offered to us if we went to their timeshare presentation. It’s been a long time since we were aggressively pushed like this. Just as a final icing on the cake - at check-out they screwed us on the credit we were supposed to receive as part of our booking. They told us we hadn’t used it so to spend in the gift shop. But then they came back with a big bill of other items they hadn’t applied the credit to!! They then told us we had to sign to acknowledge we received the credit - or they wouldn’t give it to us!!

Room was awesome, our room had a private pool. Everything was very clean. Close proximity to the beach. Transportation was amazing. Awesome to be able to rent beach toys for no charge. Food was good, not great 8/10. Not many options, restaurant took a long time 1.5 hours or so. With kids, it was hard to go and wait at the restaurants. Really great place overall and would stay again.

The premises are beautiful, the staff extremely friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and impeccable. Beach was also a plus. The concierge service is excellent and our two assigned concierges, Melissa and Iliana helped us plan the week's meals and activities. They guided us step by step.

Beautiful resort. Very clean and frienly staff. Shout out to Chez at the pool. She never stopped running and always with a smile. Love the popsicles and fruit by the pool and the pool service. Been to GR many times over the last several years and have thoroughly enjoyed each stay. This past visit (Jan 2026 for one week) was still nice but we did notice some changes that were disappointing. Food quality was not as good. With only two main restaurants one (El Faro) seemed tasked with primarily fulfilling the theme nights which, unfortunately, limited access to their main menu options. On our last evening (a Tuesday) we went to Flor de Canela hoping to select off THEIR menu but alas, it was Taco night. Food was another buffet (so-so) but the craziest part of the evening was that they had a mariachi band that went from table to table and of course, hoping for a tip (guilt trip for the diner). Now, some may like that and those who don’t can always say no thanks and they will move on but the music was SO loud it made conversation impossible. Service, all round, was fabulous and rooms and common spaces were clean. Room service was still timely and tasty with many options. Did notice they have done away with the cute little toys provided daily at turn down. Although there is still much to be enjoyed at GR I believe we will look at other options in the future considering the cost.

The room and staff were nice. The beds were entirely to hard and so uncomfortable!! The pillows weren't good neither. This hotel caters to 60 year old and older guest. So if you are in your 40s and 50s this won't be a good choice. No fun activities on site. They offered bingo, chess, blackjack ect. No good music, pool volleyball, or karaoke for younger guest 50 and under.
