I had a single room in this hotel and found it to be a bit unfriendly in the social areas but that's ok. There was no free wifi other than if you waited to talk to the travel guy to give it you. I found the staff to be pretty much useless in making any effort for your stay. I was basically given my key and that was all, I was not told a single thing about anything in hotel or Auckland.
I had a street front room and the noise was not ok. The clubs went till 4am and then you had all the pedestrian noice, I had my windows closed and it was still loud.

Very good locations and close to shops, supermarket and restaurants. Close to sky tower, and just a few steps to queen street. Nice room setup with sufficient supplies. Staff are awsonme. Will definitely stay again! Thank you!
Great location in Queen St, close to shops, train station, Quay St and the harbour. Kids loved the pool and thought the apartment (adjoining rooms) was very luxurious. I loved the bath, the little touches like make-up wipes, the heated towel rail. Didn't go to the restaurant, thought it looked over-priced for a not very exciting menu. Kitchen had everything we needed - although a Nespresso machine wouldn't go astray. Was more than we would usually spend but worth it for the convenience of the location, and a bit of luxury for one night.
I had a relaxing night at the hotel. My little boy was happy too playing and watching TV. He was excited to have a bath and come down to see the lights and the christmas trees. Definitely, the old skycity hotel is better than the grand hotel!
