Hotel DeBrett

"Nice hotel in the middle of town"
Everything was better or as good as we expected out of this hotel, friendly staff, nicely maintained rooms and even though we were initially worried about the potential noise (being in the middle of High Street in CBD), noise was not a problem at all. Mattress was too soft, but that's probably down to me not specifying beforehand. A complimentary welcome drink was a nice surprise also.

Delamore Lodge - Waiheke Island Hotels

Delamore Lodge

83 Delamore Drive, Waiheke Island - Map
"Top getaway spot. Peace and quiet guaranteed."
Definitely a high end experience. While the Lodge was "full" for our stay, having only 10 guests gives you lots of space. Great surroundings, very quiet, and the staff were friendly and happy. Very comfortable facilities and we were made to feel like we were at home, all be it a very exclusive one. We'd highly recommend to those who want to chill out, have a romantic getaway, or just generally de-stress. While we were the only Kiwis, and only stayed one night, the other guests (mainly American) were also very generous with their praise for the Lodge, especially the location, and even though their stays were longer, they still loved it. It is a great base to visit the Islands wineries and you felt like you could come and go as you pleased. Of course all of this was helped by the simply stunning weather we had for our stay, which helped with the views and the relaxation, however if the weather was average, there would still have been enough cozy nooks to settle into. If you have the budget, this is definitely worth a stay.

Breakfast on the Beach

34 The Esplanade, Waiheke Island - Map
"Great place to stay in Waiheke!"
Wonderful few days on the island. Breakfast on the Beach was a great choice for a place to stay. Off centre which made it lovely and quiet and yards from the sea. Beautiful views and hotel facilities thoughtful and well done. Many walks to be had on the island and those we had were memorable. Only fault with our trip, we hit a weekend and the island was busy with weddings so many of the good restaurants were closed for private functions which was frustrating.

"Great small hotel in perfect location"
We had did have a great experience staying in this small hotel. Great grand rooms with fantastic views, great dinner - staff on the dinner service were exceptional in coping with a group of diners. However we were very disappointed to be advised in the morning that our breakfast was 'not included' in our room cost - even though we knew that it was. The woman was not very welcoming at all and was in fact quite rude - 'we' needed to prove that it was included otherwise 'we' would be charged. Luckily we had a printed copy in our room but it was quite embarrassing to be sent to our room to 'prove the fact' and having to discuss this in front of other guests. Left a bit of a sour note on what was otherwise a great stay.

"Central Auckland location with stunning view"
We booked a long weekend for the first week in January 2017. The facilities at the Hilton were spectacular and the location with its view over the harbor has got to be seen to be believed. The photos do not do it justice.
