The room we were assigned was very dark, with minimal natural light. The condition of the bathroom was below average, and lots of items had been repaired not very well. Room was clean, and comfortable. Upstairs guests could be heard when moving around and when using taps or WC. Fee we had to pay for settling our account in a different currency was ridiculous, and to add insult they charged an additional 5% on top again,and amounted to over $180.00 extra. Be aware.

Hotel is fine for the price. Not the cleanest or best condition rooms I have seen, but since we spent most of our time away from the hotel, that wasn't a big deal. From the hotel you can easily walk to all of the interesting tourist spots in Victoria or easily access the plentiful transit option. The hotel is also across the street from a large and beautiful park and next to the Royal BC Museum which is worth a visit.

Lovely, wonderful quaint place

Wonderful stay! The staff member who helped us on 07/18/25 at roughly between 9-930pm was kind. He even ran out to our vehicle to make sure we had a parking space. Place itself was great — spacious, clean, well lit, well equipped, and all small details were well appreciated. Would stay again as we enjoyed our first time in Victoria!

The Helm's Inn is conveniently located to the waterfront and one of the entrances to Beacon Hill Park. Our room was a studio with one king bed. The room had a full kitchen, kitchen table with two chairs, two lounging chairs and side table. With all of that still plenty of space. The bed was very comfortable. The property has a couple of nice outdoor areas with seating by flower pots and plants. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend and will stay here again as I visit Victoria yearly.

Location is unbeatable yet quiet, and our spacious twin beds suite was equipped with a full kitchen, and pull out couch was set up with a comfortable mattress topper. Beacon Hill Park was just across the road and Empress and Legislature are 6 min walking distance. Price was very reasonable. Highly recommend Helms inn.
