Amazing location

The location is awesome.. great views and Bush land surrounds.. parking is not within walking distance of rooms.. this requires a bus to get anywhere... waiting for the bus can take a lot of your time.. ..ensure your room has not got a detached bathroom..

We loved staying on site however we got there a little late to have a good walk around the quarantine station. We had a quick meal which was very delicious and really enjoyed our ghostly encounters tour by Bob who was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. We would love to go back and do a day tour with our children sometime. Thanks Rachell H

Overall experience was good, due to its heritage status, the rooms were not as comfy.

Had a lovely stay - saw a bandicoot! The bus shuttle service was a surprise - all ok but I would have packed differently so I could more easily carry my stuff. Am older and not as mobile. The website should include information about the shuttle on its ‘Transport and Access’ page.

Depressingly mediocre hotel

Room smelled terrible, decor was shabby and dull, facilities primitive and loo was revolting. 2 x tea bags?? Kettle had to be boiled on the floor due to no power points! Shuttle buses so erratic timing your getaway was almost impossible. Staff help/interest varied between members. Advertising very misleading.

Cons: A comprehensive 'one-stop shop' compendium about the Q Station would be great, instead of it scattered over various bits of paper and a TV channel.
Q Station is a lovely relaxing place to stay in Sydney Harbour. And the beach is fantastic.

Unique spot

Loved the historic aspect of this venue. Not your typical hotel.

Beautiful, interesting location, needs an upgrade

Pros: The location is outstanding
Cons: Screens to the french doors, a bench or chair in the bathroom , bathroom shelf repaired, windows repaired so they open and are screened.
Location: Lovely historical buildings, nice bay for swimming, interesting walks with spectacular views. Different food options cafe/restaurant.
Staying in a hotel that is also a historical site, you don't expect 5 star glitz, but you do expect quality and a certain amount of amenity. For the price of the room I was a little surprised to find it had an 'external' bathroom, along the verandah and up the stairs. The bathroom was very musty, had nowhere to put your clothes (except the floor), and what was once a shelf over the sink was now 2 metal brackets jutting out right where you might not see. Both the bathroom and the bedroom had windows that were inoperable, and no screens to the french doors meant you had to leave your room entirely open if you wanted fresh air ( with wildlife abounding on the verandah, and anyone could be passing by). The staff were friendly but did not give you any information about the site and the events, tours, walks or features of the hotel.
