Overall our one night spent at Station was an interesting experience. Our room no 9 in P Block was very small but adequate. However, with only an overhead fan to circulate the hot air, it was stifling. So we slept with the dogs wide open making for a night of interrupted sleep and startling visitors - the most amazing being a Powerful owl, the size of a large cat!! Otherwise the breakfast was delicious with a wide selection and the staff were outstanding. While seeing the benefit of using a mini bus to transport guests around the complex, the too-frequent speed bumps were most uncomfortable and in our opinion unnecessary as no other car were permitted to drive on these roads.Recommendation is to spend at least a half a day exploring the historic features of this delightful place. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful harbour views from our verandah, the feeling of communing with nature and the joy of being close and yet so far away from the hustle and bustle of Manly. We will definitely be back for a longer stay but in a big room.

Nice! Great location! Awesome staff! Great history. Minor issues with maintenance - lights out, shower shelf broken, and blind/curtain broken and not able be rolled up. Will definitely be back!

Lovely spot on harbour; Easy to get to; Love the shuttle bus facility so not a lot of walking is required, however, if you wanted to - a lot of fantastic runs/walks/cycles available. BoilerRoom restaurant food VERY good.

Please be warned (as we weren't) - the 'Heritage' Rooms do not have their own en-suite. The bathroom for the room is accessed via the verandah to a central area housing a bathroom for each room. Not ideal if you need any privacy or don't like walking out in the cold during the night to go to the bathroom. The response front front office when an en-suite room was requested was a significant upgrade fee! There was only 1 Receptionist on duty which caused a significant delay on attempting to check-in; we needed to return later as we had an appointment in Manly. Also, be aware that you need to park your vehicle in the carpark, and then be taken by mini-bus (in poor condition) to the accommodation! Think twice before choosing this venue - we went home instead!

Old world charm with loads of character.

Our room was pleasant with a beautiful back to nature aspect. The Station gave us a rare opportunity to explore generations before us which was interesting. A gym and pool area would be a great addition. The views from the national park out over Sydney and the harbour were breath taking. Lots of exploring to be had with the added bonus of Manly a pleasant walking distance away. 😀 Pete & Jools

Amazing location

The location is awesome.. great views and Bush land surrounds.. parking is not within walking distance of rooms.. this requires a bus to get anywhere... waiting for the bus can take a lot of your time.. ..ensure your room has not got a detached bathroom..

We loved staying on site however we got there a little late to have a good walk around the quarantine station. We had a quick meal which was very delicious and really enjoyed our ghostly encounters tour by Bob who was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. We would love to go back and do a day tour with our children sometime. Thanks Rachell H

Overall experience was good, due to its heritage status, the rooms were not as comfy.

Had a lovely stay - saw a bandicoot! The bus shuttle service was a surprise - all ok but I would have packed differently so I could more easily carry my stuff. Am older and not as mobile. The website should include information about the shuttle on its ‘Transport and Access’ page.
