I love this little hotel primarily because of its proximity to the Broadway plays, most of which are a ten minute walk away. The clerk at hotel check-in did not have a hospitable spirit, but he was efficient --took care of the business, nothing else - no pleasantries, no niceties.
One of the 2 elevators was not working. So there were long waits for the elevator to arrive with a full hotel and 8 floors to service.
Our room was impeccable -crisp linen, bright bathroom, fluffy towels - everything clean and spotless. I was very impressed with the natural wood detail. It even had a non working fireplace and mantle. For my last stay, the room I had was older with older fixtures. But this room looks like it was recently refurbished. In spite of the elevator and the front desk person, I gave them 5 stars across-the-board because it's still a lovely place to stop, rest and reset. I only come for the theater or shopping, not to hang out in my room, so it's perfect and I'll be back.
