The hotel is very cute and seemed very clean at first. Unfortunately, on our last day, we pulled down the sheets on one of the beds to check for a missing pair of socks and discovered a feces-stained sheet (that was, to be clear, from a prior guest). We will not be returning to this hotel.

This was a nice hotel. The room was clean and renovated. My room was small but it was plenty for the one night we stayed. We popped in to town to see Christmas lights, shop and eat for the day and this hotel was close enough to everything including transportation. I would definitely stay again in the future.

Shower water goes all over the floor. Heat blows cold air unless you hike it up to 72 and then it’s too hot. But other than that the hotel is very nice and the room are nice. Staff was so nice!

Our stay at Civilian was just what we needed. Incredibly close to Times Square, Broadway shows, and the areas around Manhattan. We have no complaints. The rooms were modest, but large enough to accommodate us for our short stay. We would love to visit again soon!

My new NYC fave...the STAFF! Welcoming, knowledgeable, engaging. Across the entire hotel, from the lobby to the rooftop bar — this property knows how to train "on brand," and I'm here for it. Clean, well-appointed rooms, delicious food and a fantastic bar selection. Highly recommend CIVILIAN.

Amazing from check in to check out. Clean room and nice staff. We got there early in the day prior to check in time and we were able to check in. Rooms are small but it’s NYC! Beautifully decorated. Loved the fact there was a garment steamer in our room! Elevators are kinda small and can be slower at times but no big deal. Great distance to everything! Quick walk to Times Square and Broadway areas or subway access. There is a deli market on the corner for when you just need some room snacks. Probably our NYC go-to from now on!
