Room: We booked a suite in order to use the sofa bed. That wasn't possible because the mattress was so flimsy that the springs stuck thru. We requested a roll away bed, but none available. Also, asked for two blankets to create a mattress, but they were never delivered.

Rooms were poorly insulated from outside noise, carpets were old and maybe a bit dirty, and the thermostat didn’t work well - rooms were consistently too hot or too cold. In addition, the food was gross. On the plus side, the room was large enough for a family.

Here are my thoughts based on my 3 night experience in December 2025. This seems like it used to be a nice hotel but is now a little rundown. Con’s: - Not the cleanest space - My room had multiple issues upon arrival - toilet blocked, main light not working, shelf hanging off in the bathroom, only 1 towel, not enough bedding for pull out couch. - Breakfast - although free, it was pretty crappy. Day 1 they didn’t have any forks. Also most items were not being offered that day (no pancakes, muffins, yogurt, only 1 out of 3 juice available). Also this is a plastic spoon and paper plate kinda breakfast. My two teens were fed up with breakfast by day three (and they are not picky eaters at all). We ended up skipping it and buying breakfast outside. - Upon arrival, like most hotels you need to have a credit card on file. However, they charge you $250 immediately. And then said they will reimburse you 3-5 days after your stay. I’m still waiting. - You must notify the front desk if you want your room serviced. They will not do this unless you specifically ask. Pros: - Nice quiet area - About a 20 minute walk from the French quarter or a $9.00 uber ride. - Able to store your luggage in a locked place when you check out. - Free popcorn once a day in the lobby. Based on my experience, I would not stay at this place again.

⭐☆☆☆☆ | Very Disappointing Stay I booked this Sonesta for my son and daughter-in-law. The only positive was check-in—the young man was polite and helpful. The room was not clean, with stained carpet and a mattress smaller than the bed base. When this was reported, staff said it was an accessible room and claimed no other rooms were available. On New Year’s Eve (also my daughter-in-law’s birthday), she slipped and fell in the bathroom and completed an incident report. At checkout the next day, they were told no report was in the system, the manager was out, and the assistant manager could not be reached. I’ve stayed at Sonesta in Nashville with a great experience, so this was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this location due to cleanliness, safety, and poor management response.
