Millennium Gloucester Hotel London Kensington - London Hotels

Millennium Gloucester Hotel London Kensington

"Overall Room Okay With Excellent Location "
Hotel is located right across from the Gloucester Tube. The hotel is also conveniently located near the Big Bus London tour, great to experience and see all London has to offer right at your door step. Only down side was the room we were staying in was non smoking however we were obviously next to or near smoking room/s which resulted in our room being ingulfed in ciggarette smoke (not pleasant), the view was also pretty terrible. Served the purpose of our short 2 night visit well, close to Tesco and the general Kensigton district. A tip don't pay for the wifi - £10 a night, our room was able to access the millennium club lounge wifi and it was free, before you pay on check in, check the access in your room first. Overall happy and would stay again but in a different room.

The location, close to bus and tube, shops and restaurants, is ideal. Staff were always helpful and pleasant. We spent a week there and used the kitchenette facilities each day. It is well equipped and all appliances were in working order. We requested a suite with easy access and were given a ground floor room facing busy and noisy Cromwell Road. We thought this might be a problem but, in fact, it was not. We slept well in a very comfortable king-size bed. If you think you may be worried by the noise, ask for a suite not facing the busy road. We would return to Fraser Suites.

Beautiful Hotel, close to tube. Some gorgeous restaurants just around the corner. Only complaint is, the twin room is much too small. We only had small carry on luggage & we struggled for space, would hate to think what we would have done if we had 2 large suitcases. But everything else was perfect!

    Things to do

Culture vultures will love this area, as it's known as the museum precinct of London. You can get your fix at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum.

Catch a breath of fresh air by taking a stroll around Hyde Park. Make sure you see the beautiful Serpentine Lake and then pay a visit to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial. If you're lucky, you might even catch an interesting speech at the Speakers' Corner, which has acted as a sort of soapbox for many famous figures, including Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin and George Orwell. Since 1866, this spot has been a symbol of free speech and has also seen a number of protests take place, so it's of historic significance and well-worth checking out.

Pop into the Kensington Gardens and see if Kate and Wills, the Duke and Duchess of York, are at home in the Kensington Palace. Royalty has resided in this palace since 1689 and it is open to the public if you book tickets ahead of time. But if you can't join a palace tour, you can still enjoy the other features of the Kensington Gardens, including the Albert Memorial, the Italian Gardens, the Peter Pan statue and the Serpentine Galleries.

    Shopping and dining

Kensington's High Street is definitely a good place to start your London shopping expedition, but whatever you do, don't miss Harrods and Harvey Nicks in Knightsbridge! These iconic stores have been open since the early 1800s and are tourist attractions in and of themselves!

When it comes to dining, you can have a gourmet meal at the Whole Foods Market in Kensington before grabbing some goodies to take back to your hotel. If you want something a little more traditional, sit down for a traditional English pub meal at one of the fantastic pubs in the area then pop into the Orangery Cafe at Kensington Gardens for a cup of tea in the afternoon.

    Getting here and around

Kensington and Earls Court are only about 40 minutes from both the London City Airport and Heathrow Airport, so grab one of these cheap flights to London to kick off your English escape. Once you've arrived, you can easily get around on the Tube, by black taxi or on double-decker buses and the London CBD is only 10 minutes away!
