Really didn't like being slugged with their amenities charge for things such as a coin-operated snack machine, or coin-operated laundry. Why charge someone $25 a day for something that they then have to pay to use?

Great location, great price, but is very old and dated. Stayed on level 3 and the road traffic was very loud and woke us up a lot.

Location/convenience is the only saving grace

Pros: Location and wifi speed
Cons: See above
Location: Just off the busy Kuhio Avenue close to International Market Place and five minute walk to the main Waikiki drag and beachfront
The review relates to room 310. Positives: wifi speed and the location just off Kuhio and close to the new(ish) International Marketplace are the only aspects worthy of favourable mention. Everything else was sub-standard. The bathroom: black hair from other guests was in the tub and on the floor the day I arrived and it was still there when I left a week later; a cockroach came scurrying out of a power point; the toilet was not cleaned on the first day; the sink plug didn't work ie the up/down mechanism was broken. The lights - none of the lights had a knob to turn them on or off; it wasn't until I asked the front desk to send up someone to fix the TV (when the remote wouldn't work) that the maintenance guy went and got some of the knobs to replace. The ironing board: the cover was disgustingly dirty covered in stains. The bed: the bed itself was not uncomfortable but the sheets and pillow cases were not changed once in five days. Reception: Most of the front desk staff were surly and unwelcoming; when I arrived early on day one I accepted that check in was not until 3pm but there was no offer of calling me when the room was ready which would have been appreciated given I had just flown 11 hours to get to Honolulu. Noise: I guess they can't do much about the location but it was extremely noisy; I should have tweaked that that was the case when there were ear plugs on the night stand but then the glass door to the balcony didn't close easily or properly either

Great location, good sized clean rooms

Pros: It was clean and very well located
Cons: Very busy, perhaps more staff on reception
Location: Everything was within easy walking distance
I upgraded to the junior suite for a small extra charge and found it very spacious with all necessary facilities. The location was great, just a walk from the Marketplace S/c to the main street of Waikiki and the beach.

Hotel is in a great location.

Pros: Staff, location.
Cons: Fumigate the rooms.
Location: Shopping, beach, bars, tours.
This hotel is in a great location in the middle of Waikiki about 5 minutes walk to the beach, and with shopping virtually on its doorstep. It is about 2 mins walk to the Food Pantry (a small supermarket) which is very handy. The room we stayed in was a good size with a fridge and microwave. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and were the highlight of this hotel. The biggest downside is that over the course of my week-long stay I found at least one or two small black cockroaches in the room every day. Being the tropics you might expect to find the occasional cockroach but not 10-15 over the course of a stay. By the way if you have never been to Hawaii before, food is very expensive.

Pros: Not a lot to like except closeness to shops etc. The hotel reception was clean and the storage room acceptable for bags etc. on arrival
Cons: Almost everything. Staff very unhelpful and without compassion.
Location: Very to get about from hotel as long as you could find it yourself. No help from staff or facilities in the room

Staff were excellent needs to update the carpet

Pros: The staff and closeness to the beach but far away from the real busy areas
Cons: Carpet in the rooms and some paint
Location: All good
Overall well placed big rooms well main tended but just a bit dated needs a refresh very pleasant ambiance. The staff were really terrific and friendly and patient when they were some times tested by grumpy travelers. They are the strength and were top class.

Location and Amenity

Pros: Clean, pleasant staff.
Cons: More staff at busy times at front of house. Maintenance items need highlighting by all levels of staff and addressed immediately. Attention to detail
Location: Hotel is in an OK position and with a little walking most tourist spots are accessible. Not enough room allowed in the improvements needed category.
Hotel is not on the beach but still close enough to walk. Located near many eateries and some adult clubs with plenty of tourist shopping nearby. During our stay there was construction at the end of the street so it was noisy for most of our stay as they worked 7 days/week. Hotel was clean but some basics were overlooked such as fitting normal sized sheets on a queen sized bed. Small maintenance items that are more annoying than anything were in our 3 bedroom unit and the finish of maintenance work was at a low standard. Our bath tap dripped for the 10 days we were there. Dripping when we arrived and when we left. Not much communication between cleaning staff and maintenance staff. Overall it was clean and pleasant to stay at and would stay again on our next visit (subject to a good deal). the check-in process was slow and the front desk seemed to be always short of staff at busy times.
