We have stayed at Rydges 3 times before, and loved it. This time, no. We had the king suit, but only one soap and one face washer for the twin vanities. First night, I thought it must have been an oversight. Second day, same, just one soap and one face washer. Room was spotless and bed was up to Rydges standard, very comfortable.

Comfortable beds and clean room. Nice gardens surroundings. Lovely bathroom and spacious room. Exterior lighting made the room too bright for sleeping so eye mask was necessary. Would stay again but bring eye mask.

Everything was good as I expected. The only thing that I didnt like is that they dont have an onsite gym, but they provide access to a nearby gym (6mins walk), however would have been excellent to have an onsite gym.

We’ll be back!

I am so glad we chose to stay here on a 3 night visit to Hobart. Easy free parking and an easy 4 - 5 minute drive into city and Salamanca Place area. We were upgraded to a superior suite which was just delightful - huge comfortable bed, bathroom to die for with an excellent shower, separate sitting room and plenty of bar bench space with lovely crockery and cutlery, microwave, fridge and tea and coffee making. Plenty of chair and couch seating as well as work desk and coffee tables. View from bedroom window was magnificent, looking over city to water and distant rolling hills. Everything was so very clean. We could not have been happier!

Average for a Rydges Hotel

The Hotel is charming and located near good cafes. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. Unfortunately I was located on the lower floor of an attached building and the noise from the bathroom above keep me awake with the toilet flushing and shower being used. No insulation between the bathrooms which was a negative in my view as a light sleeper.

Based in heritage lovely character building with plenty of space in rooms. A good option if you have a car for easy parking, and don't mind a decent walk or quick Uber/Taxi into town.

It started with a poor description on how to find my room that a guest staying there helped sort out. I booked as an Executive room? For a room that sells for between $165 and $200 plus. The bed in the room had a large crack in the frame you could see through. With a chuck of the wood missing making it feel unsteady and a bit rickerty. The mattress and sofa were so uncomfortable it gave us back aches. The tea towel was covered in stains and the crockery didn't match, along with the Anko Kmart kettle the whole experience at this price level was very ordinary. There was barely any milk with tiny milk pods, and at that room cost level. I am looking for a minimum of decent milk and coffee pod machine and not a trip to the restaurant a considerable walk away to buy coffee for their additional profit margins? There was no air conditioning, the rooms were hot and stuffy and the Kmart fan didn't make a dent in the room heat. Listening to someone's TV at 11:45 pm when working the next day left us sore and exhausted. Looks so much better in the photo's than the experience turned out to be, not repeatable for me as a Tasmanian when there are so many other nicer more comfortable choices near by to stay at.

We had a nice spacious room but the bed was very squeaky, the mattress is wider than the frame, therefore sank on the side, very small for a queen bed, not a fan of poster beds either, I know they’re keeping the antique look but I think a queen ensemble bed would be a better fit for this beautiful big room, other than that we had a lovely stay
