Darwin Beach Accommodation\n

Could you guess what Australia’s only tropical capital is? We’ll give you hint. It’s not Sydney, Perth, Melbourne or Victoria. Want another hint? It’s named after that fellow “Chuck”. You know, the one who came up with the theory of evolution.

That’s right! Darwin, Northern Territory, is the only tropical capital on the continent and the destination for your next holiday extravaganza. Why? Because you can’t stop daydreaming about laying out on a beautiful beach while the sun bakes you to a perfect shade of bronze. Book one of Wotif’s insanely great offers on Darwin beach hotels and you’ll be in “the NT” in no time.

Gone Beachin’

Yes, there are beaches here and yes, they are freaking beautiful. Our Darwin hotels near the beach will have you sleeping within walking distance of the sand, but when you want to explore other shorelines, head out of town and check these out:

  • Mindil Beach – Located near the city’s central business district, this is the most happening place in town—and not just because the shoreline is freakin’ pristine. The nearby Mindil Beach Sunset Markets are amazing. You can buy all sorts of handmade goods and sample a bunch of local cuisine.
  • And that’s all, folks – The beach mentioned above is literally the only one suitable for doing anything at. All the others are known for their steep cliffs, seasonal jellyfish infestations, and being optimal places to catch a crocodile. Seriously, if you see a big cage attached to a pole in the water, congratulations—you’re looking at a crocodile trap. There’s even a jellyfish the size of your thumbnail that will kill you with one sting. It’s called an Irukandji, and please don’t touch it.

Home Sweet Away from Home

If you think we’d send you all the way to the top of the continent without providing you with an adequate place to stay…well, we wouldn’t do that. We’ve got all sorts of great beach hotels in Darwin that will suit your tastes just fine. Here are a couple:

  • Skycity Darwin – If you were looking for a quiet cottage on the outskirts of town, this isn’t it. With its multiple on-site restaurants and bars, seemingly never-ending list of live events and the fabulous casino, this place is an adult playground. We think you’re about to have some fun.
  • DoubleTree by Hilton Darwin – This is a great spot to stay—yes, the ocean views are fantastic, but it’s also located right on The Esplanade. There are all sorts of shops and cafes you can duck into for a quick beer or a new T-shirt.

It’s time to say goodbye to the office and head north, Like, way north. Book awesome Darwin beach accommodation through Wotif and get ready to do whatever the heck you want to.
