All of the rooms have an incredible Oceanfron view, and the staff is very friendly and do their best. However, there are only two restaurants on the property. If you get in line at 7:45 AM each morning, you can eat at the a la carte one which is okay. You will eat most of your meals in "The Birdcage" outside. They have erected netting around the restaurant to keep the birds out, but they get in with minimal effort. The birds freely walk in, and eat from the open bowls of granola, coconut, bread, etc. They also peck on the utencils you will use to dish up your warm buffet options, and will keep you on guard of your meal at your table, and often land on your table and or plate. The only good food at the buffet is a taco or quesadilla prepared in front of you by the cook, however they use the same tongs to handle the raw meat that they cook with and load your plate. The free snorkel tour is quite nice, we did it three times. In my opinion, you work too hard to spend your vacation time here.

The view from our balcony was spectacular. The grounds outside, pool, landscaping, etc. were very nice. The 1 restaurant for dinner was quite good. The buffet was below average for the Cancun/ Cozumel area. The first thing we noticed when we got to our room was no mini fridge. We’ve NEVER been to any property in the area that didn’t have a mini fridge. Apparently it’s a huge upgrade $$ to get one. We had medicine that needed to be kept cold. They wanted $ 10 dollars a day to keep it cold for us. No ice machines. If you needed ice you had to talk the bartender into giving you some. Hot water or ANY water was hit and miss. We had two hot showers each the entire eight days. There was NO water on multiple occasions. The bed was the WORSE we’ve ever slept on. A few days later we were both still sore from sleeping on it. No phone in the room to order room to order room service or anything else. The “fitness center “ was a joke. If you’re looking for a comfortable room and decent food, this is not the place. We have been to the area many, many times. We will NOT be returning to this resort .

Very run down property. Have stayed here before but it is horrible now. No hot water, faucets were coming off the sink, the towel rack fell out of the wall, toilet wasn’t working and the mattresses are 20 years old. Don’t get sucked in by the price. We will ONLY stay at the Westin next door from now on.

Pros: the beach is very nice, easy to use snorkel equipment, staff were friendly. Cons: they advertise fitness room which is 2 terrible old ellipticals and some 3 pound weights. The food is pretty much the same thing everyday and not that good. The beds are tiny, maybe smaller than a full. Air conditioning in the room was loud and didn’t work well.

This has to be one of the most horrible experiences I’ve ever had at a vacation resort. The place is in desperate need of repair/renovation - very dated. It’s was breaking apart at the seems the whole week we were there! Limited food choices (1 outdoor dining area/ 1 indoor), no entertainment, nothing to do!

I really enjoyed my stay; the service is excellent. In my opinion, the beach is one of the best on the island. The food is very good and has great flavor. Cozumel Airport is less than 10 minutes away. It’s also quite close to downtown, and I liked that there is transportation available outside the hotel at all times with very affordable prices. The only thing I don’t recommend is buying tour packages for any activity at the hotel; I paid twice as much as it actually costs, and the tour service was not very good. The tour included a fish ceviche, but we were given an onion salad instead. However, I definitely recommend the hotel. My family and I had an amazing time!

The hotel was very clean and the ocean view from the room was amazing. The room was huge! I’d say it is a little dated but that didn’t bother me at all. The bed and pillows were comfortable. They had a fabulous beach. The water was clear and calm and so many fish. The food was good too.

The place was dated from the early 1980's (I think). It appeared to be built with speed in mind and on a budget. My sink taps only turn off if they were placed in a strategic location. The actual taps or pipes had a permanent leak and was a weak spray. Those were my main concerns. The person I was with told me that his room had at least one bug in it and he said it looked like a homeless person was living there. Also, the air conditioning was very loud. I turned it off for the quiet and the room was a great temperature in March. The food was nice. Unfortunately, we only stayed there for breakfast. The beach seemed nice and sandy. Everything else seemed reasonable or better than everage.

4th time here. Super friendly staff, nice pool and great snorkeling in front of the hotel.Saw a few stingrays and barracudas

Our room was good, matress terribly hard, took 2 days to figure out how to stop showerhead from leaking. Hot water went out for 2 days, which 1/2 the guest left , the cold water wasnt really that cold so we toughed it out.2 main elevators were broke, 1 was fixed the other was out the rest of our week. Place not crowded so again bearable.could never get reservations at the dining room, very weird. Had to eat buffet every day which was so so at best.plan on trips to town to eat.if you are a picky person on a budget, you should avoid this place! Staff was great but not sure the building infrastructure will last another year.
