My flight to Chicago was canceled due to blizzard in the south. I called the hotel more than 24 hours before checkin. They said they would cancel my reservation. But then they ended up charging my card for the full amount anyway a as s a penalty. If I knew I’d have to pay for the room no matter what, I wouldn’t have canceled, I would have had my son who lives in the area find some street people who are all over this neighborhood. They could have had a warm bed for the night.

Hotel Versey is in the perfect location in Lincoln Park, close to so many restaurants and also our son’s apartment. Parking is a bit of a challenge - it’s either the $30/day ramp or street parking which is hard to find - 2 hour limit until 6:00 and free on Sunday. That worked for us since we stayed on a Saturday night. The vibe and decor of the lobby is cool and the rooms are a good size and clean - rather dated but the king size bed was comfortable. We had our small (4 lb) puppy with us and there aren’t many grassy areas close by to walk her so that was a problem. But all in all in was a great place - we would definitely stay again.

Good location

Stayed here on an impromptu weekend away. The hotel was reasonably priced and near a variety of good restaurants and nightclubs. The bed was comfortable and our room had a microwave and refrigerator. Our room heater didn’t work well and overheated the room no matter how much we turned it down. Also there was a lot of noise like noise from other rooms and from work in the alley.

Nice facility in a very decent location

Astoundingly cold weather even for a Chicagoan! Fortunately the heater functions well and for the less brave of us there are many nearby conveniences where you can get snacks, coffee, meals and hang out for a moment. When you're feeling braver the CTA is a few steps away. The help is friendly, the cable so-so (more dependent on your own personal internet services than giving access to premium channels.)

I have been staying here for over 9 years. The front desk is always very helpful and friendly. The building is older but the rooms are always clean. Beds are comfortable. Appropriate amenities. Rooms can be tight and bathrooms are often odd shaped but given the building's age it is what it is. Parking is convenient although pricey for people who aren't used to prices in a large city. I am staying again this coming weekend.
