I do not recommend staying here. Also, I do not recommend booking through 3rd party site. 1. I booked through hotels.com and apparently 2 reservations went to Hive Cancun. One for the room I booked and paid for (king suite with a pool), the other for a regular room. The staff put me in a junior suite (2 queen beds with pool). I took the room, because I wanted my accommodation.
2. The next day around 2pm I was getting ready to leave and the front called to tell me they needed to change my room. I gave my rebuttal, the desk said they would call me back to confirm. Over an hour went by. Hoping I could leave to enjoy my day, I went downstairs to confirm I would be staying in the current room. The front desk told me i could stay so I ordered my uber. As my uber arrived, the desk told me i had to change my room. I refused to change and had to cancelmy uber. Asked if it was absolutely necessary, if so I wanted a refund to be considered. They asked hotels.com to call them. Basically, the hotel told them "No" after another hour or 2.
3. I compromised and asked that there be towels, additional wash clothes, good water pressure, clean including the floors, and in good working order. I got to the room, there was mold in and around the shower, water never got hot, pool towels were missing, no exter wash clothes, leaking toilet, hairs left around the shower, and the king sized pillows were all flat. this was a horrible way to spend my birthday.
