So sorry to read your review of Doubletree Cairns on Expedia Ankush. With out more detail it is hard to reply however I do apologise as it seems we have fallen short of the expectations you have of a Hilton Branded hotel.

Double Tree is ok, but no more. The hotel itself is tired. The lifts are terrible and while the rooms are nice enough, the aircon is old and noisy, the bathrooms are really dated and the drainage is poor. The staffing was sparse, and while I imagine this was because of Covid, there was no sign or anything to point this out. The bar was open occasionally but not at the times it was supposed to be, and they opened and closed the pool whenever they wanted, but well after it said it would be, and closed it well before it should have at night. This was despite there being no staff required for it to be open. Overall, not worth the money.

I was disappointed to read your comments but yes you are correct in that we are short staffed right now as we have team members either isolating or awaiting test results. That said I do appreciate your feedback especially around outlets and pools opening & closing. Next time you visit Cairns, perhaps consider our other hotel Hilton Cairns - in fact we are just commencing a bedroom renovation and you may find this hotel a great fit for you.

We absolutely do have a central location: we are an easy 2-3 minute walk to key attractions like the Cairns Lagoon, the Aquarium and the Night Markets to mention a few. Also with in an easy walk of the hotel is the new dining precinct with a wealth of options for eating and drinking. We hope to welcome you back very soon so you can base yourself from the hotel and enjoy all that Cairns has to offer.

Excellent stay and staff. Room was misleading, booked a water view room and was barely able to see over the tree’s and actually view the water so room location was disappointing based on what booked and paid for. Other than that excellent stay.

Housekeeping was a bit sketchy. Some day all towels were replaced, other days missed hand towels, face washers, bath mats. Other than this the location is perfect and the staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again and recommend to others

This property while it is an older building the staff service and attention to detail was outstanding. Jozeph was new at the counter but welcomed us superbly and appreciated all the little extras he helped us with. Leonardo in the bar was very polite and super efficient in a very busy environment. The room is lovely considering it’s age. Linens were clean crisp and bed super comfy. Great view and breeze from the balcony. The cleaners did a great job and our room was always as fresh and clean as possible. Thank you.
