"Great hotel for the price paid"
We got a twin room for $110 a night for one evening. The beds were very comfortable (one double and one single) and the room was large and had a great view over the river. There wasn't a great variety of toiletries, no shower cap etc. The air conditioner wasn't great, and there was no opening on the window so we found it slightly stuff, but not unbearable.

Hotel Jen Brisbane - Brisbane Hotels

Hotel Jen Brisbane

"Overnighter in Brisbane"
Had to stay at a hotel in Brisbane overnight after seeing a concert in South Brisbane. Booked the Hotel Jen because we had been there before and it was good and we are Golden Circle club members. This time I tried to book through my Golden Circle membership thinking I would get a better deal, but in fact I was able to get a much better deal through Wotif (Expedia). So what's the point of being a member of the club if you don't get any benefits?? The wireless internet didn't work either - but that wasn't a major issue except I needed to check mail etc. Didn't bother the staff because it was late anyway. We'll stay again but whilst we continue to book outside of the Golden Circle Club or the Jen website, we won't get the points for our stay - we didn't this time around, so I expect that to be the status quo. By the way, the last time I booked through the Jen website, I was charged a transaction fee by my bank/credit provider because it is an overseas booking site and a money/currency exchange occurs even when you book an Australian hotel in Australia.

Royal On The Park

152 Alice Street, Brisbane - Map
"Excellent location in the heart of the CBD"
Close to the botanical gardens, QUT, Eagle Street Pier and Queen Street Mall. Aging hotel that could do with a facelift. Valet parking was slow at times - had to get the car ourselves on one occasion. Stay on the park side, not city side, as the view of the botanical gardens is much nicer than the buildings and carpark.
