A bit tired, clean enough but the vents in bathroom could be dusted. Liked the EV charging facility. Would choose room on other side, though the views would not be as good it would be quieter but that is to be expected in the city and I liked the location close to Courtney Pl. Staff helpful. Empty Coke bottle in beverage cupboard overlooked. Cooked breakfast what I would usually call big breakfast a bit small, excellent poached eggs. Would also choose room on second floor for proximity to vehicle.

The room was clean but the furnishing were very dated and in my opinion in need of a facelift. Also the rooms and hallways still have dated carpeting and I also believe these need to be replaced as well. One last point, the windows are older and not soundproof and you could hear the wind throughout the night (i was on the 9th floor)...not a complaint but an observation. The staff were awesome - friendly and very helpful.

Reception very nice and attentive. Parking space great - a safe and secure area at the back, not covered. Room was spacious but a bit dated. No milk in fridge, shampoo/soap etc single wrapped in paper rather having more environmentally viable refillable containers, however, some might prefer this. Windows single glazed, so wind hauling and leaking through the gaps, but good curtains, so no draft. No road noise, but maybe this was because of the noise from the wind.... I have not seen airconditioning, but a fan, however we did not need it as it was rather cold outside. Beds warm and comfortable.

Fine in terms of value for money. There was no internet for the first 24 hours of our stay, and no air conditioning, but a fan and open window were able to cool the room on a muggy day.

I'll start by saying that the staff were fantastic, all kind and courteous. The room was fine, just a typical room. However, the pretty basic food, especially breakfast, was fairly over priced. $30 for some eggs, meat, and toast. Then, we attempted to do laundry late in the evening, which required coins. We tried to exchange paper for coins and were told we had to walk to a shop down the road to do that. After doing that, we wash our laundry and flip it to the dryer. The dryer did nothing to dry the clothes, I changed the setting assuming ot was my own mistake. It was still wet after another 45 minute cycle. Now were $6 into just drying the clothes, which somehow came out even more wet after a 3rd attempt! To which the staff could do nothing and we were left with a bag of wet clothes at 230am. So, be prepared with coins and make sure you have extra time if the dryer is malfunctioning.

Tried to check in with our friends at 1:30pm but only 1 of the 3 rooms were ready, which was fine. But when we returned later we were asked to pay a bond. Our friends hadnt & we have stayed at the Bay Plaza many times & never paid a bond on a prepaid room.

Property is old and needs refurbishment, no aircon, it would be very hot in summer, bathroom very small, but loved the shower, my view was amazing, car parking was excellent, staff were very accomodating and willing to help, location is great, close to eateries, New World supermarket, and a short walk to oriental bay beach, and close to Te Papa and Conference centre, I would stay again because of room rate and location.
