The hotel is clean and well-maintained, and the location is ideal. The check-in instructions were clear. However, all of the rooms are on the second floor, and the stairs are quite dangerous. They have no handrail, anre diicult to navigate, and there is a low, unmarked overhang. My husband, who is a tall man, hit his head going down the stairs and said he did not want to ever use those stairs again.
In addition, the new lights in downtown Puerto Morelos are incredibly bright, and they stay on all night long. It was impossible to get the room dark enough to sleep.
We had planned to stay at the same hotel on the way back home, and had made a reservation and a payment. However, the payment was apparently non-refundable, and the hotel would not make an exception and grant a refund for the upcoming reservation, which was two weeks away, giving them plenty of time to rebook the room.
Think twice before making a reservation here.
