The resort was very clean, beautiful, smelled amazing. Rooms were very spacious & clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The coffee and ice cream shops were a nice addition. Beach was very beautiful and spacious, seaweed was very minimal.

The resort is solid with no major issues, but we found the family concierge upgrade not worth the additional price. Pros: - Bountiful activities for kids like face painting, balloon animals, bouncy castles, etc. - Good a la carte options that differ from the buffet food. - Solid waterpark with both kid and toddler friendly features. - A kids-friendly main pool that is centrally located - A smaller and efficient resort layout makes it easy to get around regardless of your location. Cons - The buffet food is okay, but it is served in a small room that feels crowded. - The resort is on the smaller side, and the kid-to-adult ratio is very high, which makes the resort feel chaotic at times. This causes the staff to appear overworked and stressed at times - and I don't blame them. - They oversell the family concierge, so the "exclusive" areas are overrun. - The concierge pool is supposed to be heated, however the heater is broken and has been for months. - Even with a pre-arrival concierge and a direct concierge, the reservation system is still difficult. It is still hard to get decent times. - The beach is nice, but 80 percent of it is unswimmable due to a reef close to shore. People all swim in the same small area. - Staff are continously trying to upsell premium alcohol at restaurants and on the property itself. We went during the superbowl and they were trying to sell a 750 USD dinner package to watch the game.
Another guest's underwear sat in front of our swim up pool for our entire stay.

Paradisus PDC did not disappoint! Friendly and accommodating staff, beautiful spacious and clean rooms, lots of fun activities and cozy spaces for both families (and adults only) to relax or enjoy, ‘many restaurant and bar options, and a variety of pool areas and lovely calm and clean beach (barely any sargassum and safe for the kids)! We are just wrapping up a week at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen. The service we received from our Concierge Roxanna was next level, we've never been so personally taken care of. From little gifts and things for the kids, to chilled champagne in our room. She made sure we were well looked after. The weather was a little cooler than expected our first few days, unseasonably so for Mexico, so the pools certainly felt cold. I believe they are somewhat heated, but the resort as a whole is feeling it's age. The room was nice enough for sure for our purposes and we certainly made good use of the outdoor jacuzzi in the cool evenings. The buffet meals were fine, there weren't many options for my wife and kids though like we've had at other resorts i.e. hamburgers, hot dogs and fries etc. the beach is really nice, lots of soft white sand and plenty of seating, although some of the seats and umbrellas are pretty worn out. The nightly entertainment wasn't the greatest we've seen, but the staff are all very friendly and really try to make your stay enjoyable. The water park is lots of fun. With decent slides and a variety even for the little ones. This was a highlight and the best one at any resort we've stayed at thus far. Overall, a great time was had by our family, but this resort (the all ages side anyway) does feel like it's catered to the younger kids (mine are 12 and 9) and it was rare we saw another child my 12 year olds age. Lots of kids in puddle jumpers.

We just came back from a week at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen. The resort was terrific, great food, very well maintained grounds, beautiful beach. Unfortunately, our stay ended on a terrible note with some of the worst hospitality I’ve ever experienced. We had tried multiple times to secure late check out but were told repeatedly that they could not accommodate the request. So, we booked the hospitality suite for 3:00 given our pre-arranged airport transfer was coming at 3:45. We showed up at 2:55 for the suite and were told it wasn’t ready and they needed 15 minutes to prepare it. I asked if they could please expedite given our timing with our transport. We waited 10 minutes and then asked on the progress. The staff said it still hadn’t been cleaned but they would now call someone. I was upset that they hadn’t even called someone when we first arrived. We waited 5 more minutes and still no one showed up to clean. I asked the front desk staff Carlos to check the state of the suite. We went to look together and the room had wet floors and dirty used wet towels on the floor. He looked at that and said we could use it. I was completely floored at his lack of concern over the state of the room and his unwillingness to try to solve the problem. I asked to have it cleaned up for our use and he said he would call someone. There was absolutely no sense of urgency from the front desk staff at all and they were all completely unempathetic to the situation. Terrible way to end our trip.

On day 5 of our 7-day all-inclusive trip, I discovered a bed bug in one of our beds. Earlier in the week, I had noticed bites but assumed they were mosquito bites. While the hotel staff did respond quickly and moved us to a different room, I was unable to sleep comfortably for the remainder of the stay. The bites continued to grow in size, including one on my face. Thankfully, the bites were isolated to me and did not affect my daughter. However, I only travel once a year, and this incident significantly dampened what should have been a relaxing experience at the Paradisus Hotel. Other than that, the food options were good overall, though it was difficult to book restaurant reservations at reasonable times, so we often defaulted to the buffet. The family shows held in one of the open lobbies were enjoyable and added a fun atmosphere to the evenings. The pool, kid pool, waterpark and beach were enjoyable too. I am not jaded by Mexico as a destination, but I am not sure how soon I would choose to return to Paradisus again because of this experience.

Staff was courteous for the most part. Room was clean. The buffet could be better, from the food to the atmosphere. All the resorts I’ve been to, there has been more options, better food, and with a view of the beach. Not in a dark room.

Beach was only draw back a bit. Food and resort were amazing! Our family concierge Fabian was outstanding! He really looked out after us, provided great service and always left something great for our kids in the room. Thank you Fabian!
