"Quaint Blue Mountains Guest House"
We were welcomed by the Manager, who explained the house set-up. The property has some lovely Federation features. We had a Heritage Room which was very simply furnished (a double bed and a single, only one bedside lamp and table and a chest of drawers). It did not have en suite facilities except a hand basin in the corner, so we had to go down the hall for the bathroom. We had dinner at the guesthouse, the dining room is delightful, with a very comfortable lounge area round the fireplace, and the items we had from the menu were excellent. The waitstaff were all very friendly. The cooked breakfast was also very good, cooked to order, with cereals and toast available to help yourself to. I would certainly recommend to people who like the guest house experience, but it's not for those who want an upmarket bathroom and TV in their room.

"Tranquil"
Great location in a bushland setting. Close to the highway, but far enough away to not be noisy. Self-contained cabins with everything you could possibly want. I stayed in a spa cabin, which also had a huge double shower. Very comfortable, very relaxing, very peaceful.

"Beautiful, peaceful stay."
I absolutely loved Blue Mountains Manor House, the town of Mount Victoria, and the surrounding nature walks. The nice people who run the Blue Mountains Manor House were helpful and kind. I loved my stay because of the easy, gentle atmosphere and the quiet. If you are looking for a glamorous, exciting time; then this is not for you, but I had a great time precisely because I was hoping for an authentic peaceful time. I was grateful for the nice people, the ease of getting around by foot. (I came up by the train and easily walked to the hotel, as well as to the walking trails, the pub, and the charming little movie theater.) I wish the owners of Blue Mountain Manor House the best, and would love to return!

Fairly late at night, the duty manager arranged an esky with ice for some stuff I couldn't fit in the mini bar fridge.

"Wonderful experience if you don't mind steps."
I'd never stayed there before and it was a bucket list. Ensure you do the Concierge Tour for $10 per person - fantastic and learnt a lot. Sadly no real lifts to the accom areas, although the rooms were cosy for 3.5 star. Food was excellent. Overall good value.

"Warm comfortable home away from home."
We stayed at Skyrider motel last weekend 22-24th April 2016. We arrived late after reception had closed for the day (but phoned ahead to advise this). The owners went out of their way to make sure our room was warm and cosy on arrival and welcoming and left the code for the free internet in our room as well. It was so nice to arrive to a heated room with the lights on, on a chilly evening. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable with that 5 star look. Located close to Katoomba near the highway it was surprisingly quiet. We didn't hear any traffic noise inside our unit and only faintly outside. We enjoyed the gardens, the helpful tourist information supplied, local information on where to eat and being able to park in front of our unit. There was also a selection of games or DVDs to borrow at reception. We recommend taking the long way into town around the scenic cliffs and lookouts around Narrow neck, scenic world and Katoomba falls. We got a lovely view similar to Echo point from Katoomba Falls. The bonus was that there is free parking at this location and also views of the falls as well as the valleys and cliffs. The walk up to the Katoomba cascades is worthwhile too. We had already been to Echo point many times so this was very enjoyable to see the 3 sisters and other scenery from a new perspective. We also spent time in town looking through a few of the antique shops and ate at the recommended hotel bistro for dinner which was lovely. We recommend this motel.

    Accommodation In Mount Victoria

How would you like a cosy little mountain retreat? Our select Little Hartley accommodation is the perfect base for exploring the fascinating heritage area in the magnificent Blue Mountains.

Little Hartley is a rural village in the Blue Mountains area of New South Wales. It lies just off the Great Western Highway, about 150km west of Sydney and 20km southeast of Lithgow and is part of a heritage area including Hartley and Hartley Vale. This is ‘explorer country’ where you will feel like you are taking a step back in time. In the 1830s, Hartley was one of the first settlements west of the Blue Mountains and made it possible to expand and develop inland Australia. Explorers and pioneers were helping to open up the wild mountain country making it accessible and habitable. In the 1850s the area was busy and prosperous. Strzelecki was one of the first to find gold in Australia near Hartley, and it was soon a centre for prospectors who headed to the area to try their luck.

In Little Hartley you can enjoy quiet and privacy. In nearby Hartley you can enjoy the traditional homesteads, some transformed into art galleries, cafes or pioneer museums. Visit the Hartley Historic Village, which preserves the colonial buildings and the area’s rich history. When you want to venture further, take the highway and you’ll have easy access to the village of Mount Victoria about 10km to the southeast and the highest point in the Blue Mountains. The famous Jenolan Caves are also only 50km away and are a perfect destination for a day trip. For something different, why not ditch the car and opt for a ride on the Zigzag Railway or find the perfect walking or horse-riding track? You’ll experience what it might have been like for the early explorers seeing the area almost 200 years ago. The regional centre, Lithgow, is only 15km to the northwest and has plenty of shopping, cafes and attractions of its own. The whole region is a photographer’s paradise. The rugged mountain scenery and the magnificent vistas over valleys and forests are awe-inspiring – the ideal way to recharge your batteries.

Ready to explore? Book your Little Hartley hotel with us below! Experiencing this untouched beauty will make you feel as though you are discovering this stunning region for the very first time!
