If you love hiking, the Dapeng National Park has been rated as one of the ten most beautiful areas of China. Follow one of the many trails into the heart of the park and get your fill of mother nature. If you're looking for a challenging hike, the trail between Xinchong and Dongchong is a great 10km trek, or go for the view at the top of Qinang Mountain. The combination trail and staircase is not for the faint hearted, as it winds 12km up to the peak.

Coco Park is the best place to shop, and if you stay until evening the area transforms with restaurants and bars making it the premier entertainment area in Shenzhen. The market at the Shenzhen Railway Station is also great for shopping, with a wide mix of everything from toys to outdoor equipment and tailored suits. Dragon Park is not to be missed, and is a welcome break from the bustle of the city. Stoll through the massive parklands all built around dragon culture, or head to Minsk World, which is a converted Soviet Aircraft Carrier that's now a military themed amusement park. Try the shooting range and many carnival themed games, and don't miss the re-enactments of the military parades on the deck, or the disco in the main aircraft hangar.
