Sorted in the End!

Ended up in a different house to the one originally booked here, as we'd been double-booked. Much stress was had with hit-and-miss communication with the owner, but eventually it was sorted for us to be in a smaller property just around the corner, which was fine, as we'd booked to be close to the Excel. The issue should have been flagged up a couple of weeks before when I spoke the owner to check everything was fine and to ask a few questions. Not great. Arrival went smoothly as the key was left there for us ahead of time. The property was alright, very minimally furnished and tidy, though needed a little more TLC as a bit visually worn in places, but had pretty much what we needed for our stay; though a few more bins wouldn't go amiss, as there was only one in the whole house residing in the kitchen. Floors could have done with a little more attention on the cleaning front, as when I cleaned up some water spray, the dark streaks were shocking. Everything else appeared clean enough though, and our time there was comfortable and we slept pretty well. One note, the TV didn't work, and the repairman got put through to us to handle it, though this was impossible as we were out all day everyday while we were there. The owner should have dealt with this personally. House is about 10 minutes from Excel and 5 minutes from both DLR stations. All in all, our stay was alright, though had to chase up getting the deposit back afterwards. Communication definitely needs improving.
