Place was horrible shower didn't work the first day, no hot water in the shower day 2, fluctuating shower temperatures every day hot, cold, hot, cold. there was a horrific stench in the 4th floor hallway for the first 3 days that followed into the room. WIFI wasn't secured and would keep shutting off in the evening, I dropped a potato chip on the floor a week ago and it was still there when I checked out yesterday so Housekeeping never vacuumed. There was a bed in front of the balcony door which made the balcony unusable was too heavy to move the bed. outlets were so old and worn out that my CPAP machine plug kept falling out so machine kept turning off and waking me up all night. Was a Horrible very expensive lesson on where NOT to stay in Waikiki

I would not recommend the Ohia to anyone. The only good thing I could say was the valet was very courteous. Although I found it unnecessary and impractical I don’t want to knock what they do and do commend them for always welcoming us with a smile. As for the hotel itself - one thing is being outdated, and then there’s outdated and filthy. Vents caked with dusts, fans caked with dust mold everywhere, every cushions are stained even in the lobby, bathrooms were disgusting, hand marks on the headboard from prior guest, nothing was like the pictures, anywhere. Pay the extra to go somewhere else. I have nothing good to say about this place - you will be astonished at how bad a place could be and will regret booking this hotel.

The staff were friendly, but I cannot recommend this place. The room did not resemble the pictures, was dirty, and made me feel uncomfortable. I was on an emergency trip to Oahu from another island, and after checking in, I left within an hour and did not return to the room.

The Ohia is the arguably one of the worst stays I have had in Waikiki. The expectations should not be too high given the price, so the standards should not be set too high in that regard. It should not be a surprise that the walls are thin, the amenities are outdated and the overall rooms were most likely not renovated since the early 2000s. The simple standards of staff and safety of the room are the reason for my poor review. Our check in experience was not pleasant. Although the actual front desk worker was helpful they did not have support from other staff in regards to what they needed to run through the line quicker. All guests including myself needed something that required help from another staff member, and it seemed every other member besides the

Beautiful Views & Comfortable Stay at The Ohia Wai

I recently stayed at The Ohia Waikīkī Hotel in a Sky View room with two double beds, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The view from the room on the 15 floor was absolutely stunning — you can see the vibrant Waikīkī skyline and even catch glimpses of the ocean. Waking up to that view every morning was a highlight of my trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The beds were cozy and perfect for getting a good night’s sleep after a day of exploring. 2 balcony’s . The location is ideal — just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants, yet still peaceful enough to feel like a retreat. The staff was friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out easy. Overall, I’d definitely recommend the Sky View rooms at The Ohia Waikīkī Hotel if you want great value, comfort, and beautiful views in the heart of Waikīkī. 🌴

I was staying at a hotel called Aqua Palms, super nice and clean, I never saw any cockroaches and I wanted to change hotels and I came to this one called Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites. I stayed there because it had a kitchen. My experience was the worst. I saw cockroaches everywhere, how disgusting. I made a complaint at the front desk and they told me that it was normal in Hawaii to see cockroaches and I said no. I had already stayed at another hotel before this one and there were no cockroaches, it's a lie

We booked a room with three beds but nobody told us they switched us to another room until I founded out and asked. Their claim was the room with three beds was not available so we got an “upgrade”. Then I asked whether we can just get a double bed standard room and refund me for the difference, and was told No. We were offered to switch rooms if we don’t like the “upgrade”. I didn’t realize why they offered us multiple times to switch to standard rooms until we found out the shower in the “upgrade” was broken. I spoke to multiple front desk staff many times asking them to send someone to fix the shower, but no luck. They never sent anyone to fix the shower. Basically they were trying to force us to downgrade to a standard room without giving us the price difference. Do not recommend anyone to stay at this property.

The location was perfect. Staff was nice. The beds were comfortable. If you are not going to be in your room most of the time and want a good location this is a good place to stay. Best option if you want best value for your buck and proximity to all the best food in Waikīkī and few minutes walk to Waikiki beach. Hotel is outdated but doable, staff are quiet accommodating and free ice cold filtered water and ice tea, when you very Waikīkī in summer is a big plus! Thank you Ohia studio for a great stay! Hotel is old.. staff are nice except for that one supervisor upon check in. Carpet is very dirty, room smells, the toilet is very low and positioned awkward plus it’s very low. Not sure if all rooms have the same outline. To use the toilet, you sit sideways if not one leg will hit the sink. Yes not comfortable. The shower is tight and the shower curtain is short so water is all over the floor. Valet parking and it’s $45/day

The location is the only positive—perfectly placed near restaurants and just a short walk to Waikiki Beach. Unfortunately, everything else was a letdown. Most of the towels had visible stains. The curtains were ripped in multiple places and “fixed” with duct tape, didn’t block light at all, and let streetlight spill onto the ceiling at night. The AC could only adjust fan speed, not temperature. The bathroom was extremely dated and in terrible shape-cracked tiles, mold, stains, and debris in the shower drain. I wore flip flops to shower because it felt unsanitary. My key card stopped working after one use; after two trips to the desk for reprogramming, maintenance finally replaced the lock’s dead batteries. Front desk staff were polite and acknowledged these issues but gave no indication they planned to address them. Sadly, the location doesn’t make up for how poorly this property is maintained.
Light in the room when trying to sleep
Shower dripped, and they have put a valve to "fix" it instead of repairing the issue in the wall.
