Coolangatta Holiday Packages

Just because a town has the word “cool” in it doesn’t actually mean it really is cool, right? There’s no way it could be lined with picture-perfect beaches. There’s no way it could have happening bars full of lively locals who want to buy you a schooner or two. There’s no way a place like that exists. It’s all rubbish!

Oh, how wrong the above statement is, because Coolangatta on Australia’s Gold Coast is just that. The waves from Snapper Rocks to Kirra are world-class. The bars along The Patch seem to never stop raging. So yeah, we think it’s about time you book one of Wotif’s Coolangatta holiday packages and see it for yourself.

Getting to and Around Coolangatta

Check you out—you’ve booked one of our Coolangatta package deals. Now you need to figure out how to get there. Fly into Gold Coast Airport (OOL) and get yourself Coolangatta car hire for the quick drive to your hotel. Once you’re settled in, you can park the car and hoof it through town—or ride a bike if you’re so inclined. If you want to explore other areas of the Gold Coast like Surfers Paradise or Tweed Heads you can use the train, taxi or bus services.

Visiting Coolangatta

Where do we start? There are so many fun things to do in this town, we could spend all day telling you about them. But since we don’t have all day, we’ll just give you a few to consider. Start off with a trip to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in the nearby town of Currumbin. Hang out with dingoes, kangaroos, koalas and rainbow lorikeets. You can even sign up for a Segway Safari or test out your swinging skills at the TreeTop Challenge.

Want to enjoy Coolangatta holidays from the stratosphere? Make a reservation with Gold Coast Skydiving, say a Hail Mary and jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Don’t worry, you’ll have a certified instructor strapped to your back the entire time. You’ll zoom toward the earth at ridiculous speeds while the beautiful scenery below gets closer and closer. Eventually your parachute will deploy and you’ll be treated to the best views of your life while you slowly drift to the sand. Be sure to kiss the ground after you land.

You’re going to want a few beers during holidays to Coolangatta so take your pick from about a million places that serve cold ones. Any of the Surf Life Saving Clubs from Snapper Rocks down to Kirra have awesome beachfront bars. There’s also the option of heading to The Strand, where there’s pubs upon pubs on pubs. Some of the better beers you can order are Sheaf Stout, Castlemaine XXXX, Tooheys and Balter. Slug away.

Hipsters Unite

Your holiday is already shaping up to be pretty freakin’ epic. But we’ve got a sweetener for you, particularly if you want to spend a day or two in a relaxed beach town with a hipster vibe. Book one of our Byron Bay packages and make your way 68km south. Check out the Cape Byron Light, go whale watching and relax on Byron Main Beach. Bring the sun cream!

Time to become Joe Cool and book one of Wotif’s great Coolangatta packages before another work deadline creeps up. Actually, you know what? Set your out-of-office message and tell your boss you’ll be back in a few weeks. You’ve got a getaway to plan.

Location was excellent! Great view. Only the down side is a bathtub in second bedroom was covered by oil (sun tan oil?). I had to wash it with soap by my hands before having a bath. Other than that it was great stay.
