This is a hidden gem in Old Town. Much better than staying in a chain and much more comfortable. The room was perfect and we had several options to walk to dining. We will definitely be back to stay here.

Was very happy with our stay. Super quiet place and very comfy. Free parking was awesome and a 15 min walk to tons of restaurants. The room was very clean. My only little nit pick was the pillows were a little thin. The Girlfriend and I plan on coming back again next year!

They're simple, clean, and comfortable—nothing over-the-top, but definitely a step up from your average hotel. The beds are cozy, the space is quiet, and everything feels fresh and well-kept. Just a heads-up: there's no elevator, so if you're hauling a big suitcase, you'll get a little workout. Now, breakfast, available from 8 am to 10 am, is continental, but thoughtfully prepared—think hard-boiled eggs, pastries, fruit, and good coffee. The shared kitchen and lounge area are a highlight, offering a bright, modern space perfect for relaxing or chatting with fellow guests. One of my favorite spots? The outdoor seating. It's the kind of place where you can sip tea, reflect, and feel like you're miles away from the hustle. The staff? Lovely. They're attentive without hovering, and genuinely helpful. Very clean facility; manager Jose was very responsive and helpful; no in-room fridge but we were allowed space in the kitchen’s large fridge to store a few items; easy walk to bus and train and to restaurants.

SO cute, great location

I had such an AMAZING stay here! I had to find last minute accommodations for a 1 night stay and The Sono totally exceeded my expectations! When I booked, it wasn't clear that it was actually a bed and breakfast and not a hotel, but that was a great surprise! My flight arrived around 9pm and, despite the late arrival time, an employee met me at the front gate and carried my luggage to my room for me! The entire place was SUPER clean and I felt really comfortable and safe. You also can't beat the location!! Surrounded by gorgeous brownstones--it feels like you are a part of the beautiful neighborhood. It's also extremely close to the brown el train and a few bus lines as well. One small thing was that I needed Q-tips and they don't provide any in the bathroom, which I usually expect as a typical hotel offering--but that's more of a suggestion than a critique. Thank you again for making my short stay at The Sono so memorable!

A unique experience very different from a typical hotel! The location is in a residential neighborhood between homes, so very different from your typical hotel. The ample free snacks and drinks were a great perk. The shared common kitchen/dining room/porch were beautiful. The bedroom itself was a little small, and only a queen bed -- and only stairs, no elevator -- but the bathroom/shower was large and lovely. The host was frendly and communicative. Free street parking is available, no $40/night that you might have to pay at other hotels. A great place overall!
