LOVED the room and the view was spectacular! The location could not have been any more convenient. Lobby was beautiful. Our room had a separate living room with bay windows looking out over Lake Michigan and the city. The bedroom was fantastic with a comfortable bed and pillows. We slept so well. Nice separate bathroom and an extra walk-in closet. I was so pleased that I didn’t want to leave even after 3 nights. I’ll definitely stay here again.

My request for a room in the North Tower was not forwarded by hotels.com, so I had to request it at check in. Noisy fan in the room with no temperature control. But it masked the constant noise of knocking pipes. Very low hot water pressure and there wasn't any hot water at all by 9am on my day of checkout (a Sunday). One of the two elevators was out of service for two days of my three day stay in the North Tower - lines formed for use. Breakfast restaurant only offered an expensive buffet.

My room was spotless and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that breakfast was buffet only, not a menu, so you pay $35 even if you just want toast and some eggs. Also, they were too short-staffed to do in-room dining and were out of a lot of food items. The lake view rooms are super nice, and the view is great, but be aware that the street noise is very loud. The noise quieted down around 2:00 am and I was able to sleep just fine, though, and I would definitely stay again. Also - the bathrooms are very nice, but the bathtubs are just regular tubs, not “deep-soaking” tubs like they advertise. I stayed for a weekend and enjoyed my stay. It’s a very old hotel so you have to understand that even with renovations the building still has issues like the street noise, plumbing, and heating. The food at the on-site restaurant is excellent.

This is an older hotel and I think it’s beautiful, but certainly it’s not fancy. But with that location, I don’t need fancy and the view of the lake and the fountain was awesome. From when we entered, and Stephen took care of us, pointed us in the right direction and told us the best place to park… every staff member after that was friendly and looked out for us.

The family suite worked out really well for us (husband, wife, and 3 young kids). The staff was very helpful for the most part. The lounge and restaurant were understaffed so we couldn’t really use either. Great location and nice room!
