The staff were courteous but on night two of four night stay, the bathroom faucet broke. I was headed to an event and didn’t return until very late. I had a note to contact the front desk. When calling, I was informed that maintenance had to turn the water off to the sink. I was offered a chance to move rooms, but it was 1:30am and opted to wait until later in the day. I was eventually moved to another room, but the guests next to me were loud and their conversations could be heard. I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to make it an issue. Overall, the hotel was nice with lots of cool history. Just inconvenient having to switch rooms mid-stay.

Love this vintage hotel

A friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights to enjoy the Art Institute nearby. We paid the extra $20 for a lake view room- wow, gorgeous! Watched the sunrise, moonrise and a peek of sunset. Friendly helpful staff. Decent restaurant for breakfast. And we walked to Buddy Guy’s Legends around the corner a couple of blocks- fantastic Chicago blues. Part of the charm of this place is its old school ambiance. Beautiful lobby. I will stay there on my next visit to Chicago!

Congress Plaza Hotel is in a great location, the staff is friendly and helpful. We requested a lake view room and received one, the view was fantastic. The hotel is a bit dated but very clean with a nice staff.

Just ok.

The hotel is very old, not updated. Im so sure it looked great at one point. We had a room with “lake view” and the noise from the street was as if you were outside, terrible. The curtains barely opened or fully close, sunlight for sure will wake you up and had no sheer curtains for privacy. They kept the room clean, the carpet from the hallway stinks to cigarette.
