Love the elegant lobby. Rooms, hallways, etc are dated but you can still feel the glamor of the old days. Ice machine was broken. Front desk directed me to the bar where they were glad to give me all the ice I needed. My non-smoking room smelled slightly of smoke. Cleared quickly and did not bother me.

The location is excellent, right across from Grant Park and close to everything downtown. The room was as clean as you’d expect for an older hotel, but it could use more care. I wasn’t expecting a castle or a modern vibe, just a little pride in upkeep. The biggest frustration was the deposit: I was told it would be $50, but they charged five times that, and staff refused to address it. They said I’d just have to wait for checkout to see the refund, which felt dismissive. Convenient spot, but poor service and sloppy standards took away from what could’ve been a solid stay

The hotel is a good option to stay at a great location in the loop. The property is a little outdated but well maintained and clean. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place at an affordable price.
