There is nothing fancy about The Abbott - it provides accommodation. But it does that very well. The experience seems formulated on the expectation that guests will source all their meals externally, which is reasonable given the close proximity to a multitude of eating places. Also easy walk to the piers. Inside, the room was quiet and comfortable. Great shower, good array of complimentary toiletries. We enjoyed a Superior room with street frontage (room 201); would recommend trying to obtain this or similar if considering The Abbott.

This hotel was centrally located and made it very easy to walk wherever you wanted to go. Having free access to washer and dryer was an unexpected bonus. I throughly enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine as well. I would rebook this hotel if I am able to return to this amazing part of the world.

Excellent hotel. Loved the spacious, comfortable and contemporary room. The lounge with cappuccino coffee machine was a lovely touch. Note the service was excellent but I gave it 4 stars because the reception isn’t manned 24/7. It wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s not what most would expect for 5 star service.
