This Kauri colonial Cottage located at the rear of the original homestead property is a tiny house surrounded by a large sunny landscaped sub-tropical garden with private access, car park and veranda.

COTTAGE DESCRIPTION:
One bedroom cottage with polished floors, very high ceiling and exposed beams offering astonishing large space for its 56 square-metre size.
The Queen size mezzanine bedroom on the first floor is accessible by a steep kauri handmade staircase and offers glimpses over the Manukau Harbour during winter times.
The living room located on the ground floor, features antique chair, chests, coffee table, flat screen TV as well as a comfortable double sofa-bed. A working desk can also be added on request (for stays over 7 days).
Next to the living room is a well equipped kitchenette as well as a full bathroom with laundry equipment.
Guests may also take advantage of a private veranda overlooking the garden which features swing sofa and outdoor dining teak furniture.

BASIC FACILITIES:
1 car Parking, Netflix and Apple TV, ultra fast broadband internet, tea & coffee, access to outdoor giant trampoline, luggage drop-off facility are included in the price.

HISTORY:
The Cottage which stands where the original early settler's stable stood 170 year ago, was built re-using largely the timber of the old building. Horse equipment in the cottage date from 1860. This heritage property is listed as one of Auckland special character buildings.

LOCATION and SITUATION:
It's proximity to Auckland Airport and city centre gives the Cottage a near perfect location for the single businessman or woman. It is also the ideal romantic place for any couple wanting to spend a few days in New Zealand largest city. Access to Auckland CBD is only 20 minutes by train and Auckland International Airport 10 minutes using the Southern Motorway. The old village of Onehunga (Centre of Auckland 160 years ago) is just a few minutes walk.. and if you like Rugby, it is 10 minutes from the All Black 'temple' of Eden Park!
The Cottage has a large garden and enjoys a sunny and quiet location facing the Manukau Harbour villages and beaches and the surrounding are home to many native bird species.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Once you arrive at Harbour View Cottage, you are also metres away from Jellicoe Park outdoor and indoor swimming pools and fitness centre. We recommend the 30 minute walk to One Tree Hill, the largest farm city park in New Zealand which provides the best panoramic views over Auckland and it's region.

BREAKFASTS :
Since Covid, we no longer serve cooked breakfasts. However, we can deliver on demand a pre-packed breakfast in your room before your arrival for $20.00 /person.
A free selection of miso, tea, herbal teas and coffees (Plunger, instant, Nespresso) is available in the kitchenette with fresh milk.

SMOKING:
Smoking or vaping is permitted on the veranda outside the cottage only. Evidence of smoking inside the cottage will carry a significant increase (100%) of your rate.

HEALTH & SAFETY:
The Cottage is equipped with sensor lights, smoke alarms, first aid kit and fire extinguisher.
Because of the steep staircase, extra caution must be taken with children and guests with disabilities.
If you feel unwell or symptomatic, please let us know as soon as possible, keep a 1-metre social distancing and wear a mask when interacting with hosts. We also provide hand sanitiser, masks and Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Tests at no extra charges.
