Mayfair rarely disappoints but Hindley Street and the surrounding buildings are filthy. I lived in Hindley Street many moons ago but this weekend I've never seen our city looking so grubby....filthy actually. The City Council should be ashamed. Unfortunately the area detracts from this hotel.

Behind the cushions in the breakfast area had SOO much filth. The room was dirty as well

Carpets needed cleaning especially the entryway to the hotel and the hallway between the rooms. Hand marks on the inside elevator doors. Rubbish was left in the room from the previous guests, coffee and sugar wasn’t restocked. It didn’t seem up to standard for a 5 star hotel. No attention to detail. However the room was big and the beds are very comfortable, and the bathroom was excellent. The shower was huge. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. However breakfast in the room was cold.

We stayed at the Mayfair for one night during a basketball tournament with two young children. It proved perfect - heart of the city, lovely room and friendly staff. Simple breakfast but fine for what we needed.

The room was not clean: There were grapes in the corner of the room! Yes Grapes! There were a couple of objects undearth the curtain on the main window wall( I did not want to touch objects, but they appeard to be of a hard plastic) The carpet had x 2 big stains. The mirrirs on the wardrobe had finger marks and other meaksm and a fine layer of dust, appeared not to have been cleaned in awhile. Not very happy with this standard from the Mayfair!!!

The room was poorly cleaned. Visable drink rings on all surfaces. Sticky batroom floor. What was the most disturbing was a bed that smelt damp and musty, mould on the quilt, what appreared to be a dry blood stain on the sheet, and a big yellow booger inside the sleeve of the bathrobe. I insisted on staff to come and look, they refused and asked me to email photos. I did and have heard nothing back.
