There was no Guest Directory in the room, and therefore I had no idea what the iPad was for, which didn't work anyway. Room service was a joke (I had to call and ask if they had bread, which they didn't). A virtually non-existent mini-bar, and it seemed to run on minimal staff with very few room facilities or amenities. Not the great experience I was expecting.

I’ve stayed previously and had a better stay, this time I was very let down and won’t return. Breakfast and staff were a massive let down, minibar choices were poor, housekeeping left cleaning cloths in our room and the bedding was stained and main blanket was yellowed. Only plus this stay was the property was convenient for where we needed to be.

Great location. Staff didn’t provide any information when checking in so later on we didn’t know how to access the rooftop bar. Called with issue with TV remote and no one ever came as they wrote down the incorrect room number. The room is nice but unsure if it was worth the price as I’ve stayed in others in Adelaide with the same offerings for less.

We stayed at the Mayfair for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay! The staff were friendly and polite and the room was comfortable. Having drinks at the rooftop bar was the perfect way to enjoy the evening. Not to mention, the location was fantastic and conveniently located across from Rundle St Mall. I would have given 5 stars for everything if not for the slightly aged room. For example, all USB charging sockets in the room were broken. And teh layout was slightly odd, e.g. power outlets were in far corners and the room phone was tucked away in a corner almost behind the cupboard. I suppose that’s also because its a heritage building converted into a hotel. Also, another little inconvenience is that there isn’t a proper driveway/drop-off point at the hotel and you need to get off/on at the loading zone along the street, but when the loading zone is full (which was often), it’s really difficult to load/unload your luggage.

Perfect location

Perfect location for festival theatre show- many options for dining there & surrounding areas. Great rooftop bar & breakfast. Right beside tram service & shopping mall. Loved the cloud like bedding- coffee pod machine & complimentary mini bar .

No longer premium

Stayed at this hotel many times in the past and it was amazing. Haven't stayed for a few years and in that time it has declined. Stay in a king executive suite. Used to have excellent pillow choice. We had hard as rocks ikea pillows. Not what you expect from a premium hotel. We asked about the pillows and were told they still had the selection, which I then said well if that is the case you don't start with ikea pillows. They said we could have memory foam. We we got back to our room we did have new pillows but weren't memory foam but commercial tontine pillows. The water temp in the shower wasn't hot. Was just warm. They used to have beautiful fresh flowers in the lobby, now gone. The air conditioning the room didn't get warm and kept shutting down. Rooms are still nice but once you have had a premium experience it is what you remember and those standards need to be maintained. They are still charging a premium price for what is no longer a premium experience.
