Bleecker Street

Once at the centre of New York’s edgy arts scene, Bleecker Street is now a great spot to eat and shop to your heart’s content.

Bleecker Street runs through the heart of downtown Manhattan, connecting the East and West Villages along a strip once beloved by Lou Reed and Bob Dylan, among others. Indie boutiques, bustling cafés, bars and nightclubs all co-exist here, and foodies swarm into the area for the artisan bakeries and authentic Italian restaurants. This lively area may be pretty much gentrified, but it’s hard to match in Manhattan for atmosphere.
