I recently stayed at Public Hotel and was thoroughly disappointed. While I was fine with the self check-in process (even though an inconvenience), the rest of the experience didn’t meet expectations, especially given the high price point. There was no room service available, the staff were consistently unhelpful and had an attitude whenever we asked simple questions, and the hallway carpets were stained and noticeably dirty. For a hotel that markets itself as upscale, the lack of basic service was incredibly underwhelming.

The hotel and bars were beautifully designed and staff was fantastic. The hotel is quite the scene so we had some rowdy neighbors in the adjoining room. Bring ear plugs.

We stayed at this hotel for 14 days - everything was fine. I’ve returned home to a payment having been taken from my credit card for £468!!!! I have no idea what this is for and I will be making a formal complaint and expect this to be retuned to me asap!!! My credit card was given to the receptionist upon checking in where I was informed it was for a $200 accidentals deposit that would be returned to me once I check out. There was NO mention of a payment of almost £500 and I did not approve of this payment - I will be taking this up with the hotel and with my credit card. This is theft. It’s as simple as that. I wouldn’t stay here again due to this as this is not okay. What a let down. To have money taken from you when you’ve not used any facilities or any services that require payment. After googling this I can see a HUGE number of people have also experienced this. We paid thousands of pounds to stay here for 14 days. It’s an insult that you would take money you’re not authorised to. I expect my money back.
