I have stayed at several Fairmont properties and have always loved the brand. This stay at the Vancouver Airport location was, in many ways, spectacular. The room was absolutely beautiful with wonderful linens, and the amenities—the soaps and lotions specifically—were fantastic. I also have to rave about the in-room dining; the setup was perfect and the food was truly amazing. ​The only reason I’m not giving this a perfect score was the initial check-in. Unlike the warm welcome I received at the Marriott earlier in my trip, I felt like my arrival was an inconvenience to the staff member at the desk. I felt a bit like I was 'annoying' them just by checking in, which was a disappointing start to an otherwise lovely stay. Given my history with Fairmont, I’m sure this was just a one-off, but it was a noticeable contrast to the excellence found in the rest of the hotel's service
