Overall, my stay at Oaks Townsville was a wonderful experience. The hotel itself was excellent in every way — the rooms, the facilities, the cleanliness, and the general atmosphere were all top-notch. I truly have no complaints about the hotel itself. However, my experience took a turn during dinner last night. One of the waiters (wearing a blue and white coloured shirt) was noticeably condescending in his manner and seemed to make little effort to be kind or courteous to guests. It was disappointing, especially after such a great stay up to that point.

Great apartment that had everything we needed. Comfortable bed. Adequate cooking facilities for simple meals. There was also a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer which we really appreciated! Unfortunately it rained for most of our stay so we couldn’t use the pool but the gym was good. We are really thankful to the reception staff who made sure we didn’t miss our bus when we left. We would definitely stay again!

Room was clean and tidy. Staff were pleasant. Thought the area was average until we went out Friday night and found it was the place to be. Great spot. Toilet flush button got jammed a couple of times but okay. Please could someone get low fat milk; my wife says most people drink it now. Long life is pretty awful but tolerable (just) for an overnighter but anything longer….. The ice tray was broken in half in Room 804A, so should be replaced. Probably for about $3.

East check in. Room well equipped for size of room. Small verandah, but not pleasant on verandah with air con blowing and mostly only rooftop views on 3rd floor. Cooking facilities and washer dryer. Everything clean.

Have stayed here before and overall very good. However this time there were issues with communication. I had arrange the night before to allow me to go into an unused clean room early when I arrived so that I could change into work clothes and leave luggage. When I arrived none were available! However they allowed me to use the gym to change. On the second day I returned to the room at about 2.30pm and it hadn't been serviced.

The hotel is well positioned and quiet. Rooms are spacious enough for two and have everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of dining options nearby. We’d stay here again.
