Our room especially the bathroom had poor lighting and cramped unlike the one I reserved online. The bell desk on our first day did not offer us the free bottled water (which was Available in our room) when I asked for it- instead told us to go to in line at the restaurant to ask for it.

Underwhelming getaway night

the room was clean and comfortable. The room next door had a baby that cried a lot and we could hear it, making it hard to sleep. the hotel lobby area its self was noisy with loud music and a busy mall like feeling, it was overwhelming. The Library Bar was underwhelming, especially the overpriced cocktails. The reception desk staff were friendly and helpful. It's more for families perhaps on the weekend.

The Royal York is an Historic Hotel and is beautiful and well situated but the rooms are very dated and in need of renovations. the first room we got, the A/C was very noisy and the toilet kept making a loud squealing noise and the next morning when we made the request to change rooms it took until 3:30pm to get a room change and after we unpacked everything about 20mins later, we got a call from the front desk to say that they had given us the wrong room. the last room we got was a bit larger room and we had no problems in this last room. we spoke with some other guest that we met and heard of similar issues with them. so this place is in need of renovations.

Was confirmed early check in. Didnt get in room until after 4pm. There was hair in the tub and on the bed it looked like someone had sprinkled pepper on it

Where to stay in downtown Toronto

Beautiful Hotel in a great location. Walkable to many of the city's main attractions and restaurants. Easy train from airport drops you across the street from the Fairmont hotel.
