The bed was comfy and it was a decent place overall. Unfortunately the water was shut off at 7am the next morning ( they only notified us once we were already there). It was not ideal for us. In addition, the hot breakfast was not warm (even though it was in the warmer).

Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice, and very helpful. The breakfast was very good, with lotsnof options. The motel is in need of repair, especially the roof as there were leaks in the hallways when it was raining heavily.

This hotel was nothing like its pictures. It was run down, out dated and rotted. I’ve never been more disappointed. A rat ran across the entrance as we came into the establishment. Would never stay here nor recommend it to others. Will be looking for a refund.

Disappointing and Disgusting Experience at Travel Lodge Sydney I'm writing this review as a warning to others. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was forced to stay at the Travel Lodge in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Unfortunately, the experience was a nightmare. The room was filthy, with rust in the tub, on door hinges and towel rack. The bathroom fan was clogged with dirt, and the tiles were water stained and likely moldy. The carpets were stained beyond repair, and the chairs and lampshades weren't much better, all having stains of some sort. The room needed a serious overhaul. It’s dilapidated condition was shocking. The state of the place was so appalling that I opted to pay for breakfast for myself, my husband, and my son rather than eat at the hotel's breakfast buffet, which was included with our stay. Let's just say it was a blessing we had other options, because there was no way we were eating there. I was shocked and disappointed by the lack of cleanliness and maintenance at this hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was not what I expected, and I won't be back.

Hotel is overall pretty run down. Celieng tiles damaged, stained carpets in the hallway, hallway carpet pulled up in places. Rooms had decent beds, but in my room the bathtub trim was falling off, there was black mold above the shower head, the hot water would come on and off. You can tell ownership is more worried about saving every penny by all the cut corners, then the quality of your stay. It is probably a little worse than you expect it to be, but its serviceable in a pinch.

There were multiple prominent stains on the carpet. The carpet was clearly old and worn. There were two large prominent stains on the couch. There were water leak stains on the ceiling and rust on almost a metal fixtures and things like hinges etc. there was no drain plug in the old tub (rusted) so one could not take a bath. There were only 3 small pillows in a King bed for 2 guests. The room had certainly been cleaned but even the most diligent housekeeper can only compensate so much for an older neglected property. This was supposed to be one of the nicer rooms at the end of the hall on the ground floor. Every corner in the room had marks and damage, wall paper was peeling in several places. It did not feel or look like a room a person should be paying for. I have photos. I won’t be returning and cannot recommend the property to anyone at this point.
