I had a single room - bed was comfy. Sheets blankets pillow were clean. My only complaint was the kitchen was for the whole place it was large but got very hectic - the Casual seating area Had a pool table and again got hectic. - the only place I had to sit was my room - but there was no chair - overall. It was good value - the bad things were just my personal preference on things and previous stays at other backpackers that had supplied them - I did love it was 24/7 for the front desk. Bathrooms were clean ( also I’m 58 im Not into Socialising with lots of people lol ). But would recommend for backpackers who like to socialise :-)

The only room in the entire building that has air conditioning is the reception. Room was stuffy, We had a tiny fan in our room blowing hot air. The bunk beds were not comfy at all. You can feel the springs under the mattress. Bathroom was nice.

There were cockroaches in the room, it was very hot and very loud due to plant noise right outside the window. Only thing going for it was the price but when you can’t sleep, it’s not worth very much.

Accomadation is very dated but the showers and rooms are okay to use. The atmosphere is a bit strange. I have seen others comment about the 'bitchiness' around by other guests which is quite accurate but not a reflection of the staff themselves. I would stop in again, as it is conventionaly located near shops including grocery stores. I was given a quiet room thankfully abd the ceiling fan was used religiously. I would reccomend

The accommodation is a bit more rundown than the pictures and to get a blanket and more then 1 pillow you have to pay a deposit that you get back at the end of your stay but still annoying another $30 I could of spent on my holiday and with no heater in the room you do need it also the hand dryer in bathroom didn’t work the whole time I was there and the sanitary bins had not been emptied in days. But the staff were lovey

Good location, good hostel

Maze backpackers did exactly what we needed, located in a pretty good spot in the CBD. Sydney is pretty massive, so you need to walk or take taxis to get anywhere fast, but a comfortable walk from the Darling Harbour area with lots of shopping around.
