Room I had on level 2 was very quiet. Very clean with ample room to hand and put clothes away for a longer term stay.
North Beach is a great area filled with bars, cafes and restaurants. Home of the beat movement in SF. Lots of history in the area. Also very safe.

I was in San Francisco this week for a conference. Instead of booking the usual big chain hotel i tried to fin something a bit more personal. Choosing Hotel Boheme was a decision I was very happy with. Check in was easy and the room was clean. The best aspect however is the atmosphere. This place has character and a history. The rooms are smaller than the usual however there is still plenty of room for luggage and sitting around. A couple would be fine in the room, and let’s face it you aren’t in town to stay in a hotel room all day. As other reviews have pointed out there are no tea and coffee making facilities but literally 2 steps outside the door and you are inside the Stella Pastry shop which is open all hours of the day and night. The hotel is surrounded by fantastic Italian restaurants and a very short walk to Chinatown if you desire something different. The location is perfect, being halfway between the main city Centre and shopping and the bay. The staff here are friendly and helpful. It is cold here at the moment, however even without using the heater in the room it was quite comfortable. it is a short walk to the City Lights bookstore which is a must do visit. I wouldn’t even look at another hotel for my next visit to San Francisco.
