The reviews I read before going were right on. But if you go with an attitude of patience, of taking things as they are, and looking for the positive you'll have a good time. I would not return to this property though.

Poor service overall. Property is short staffed. I had to pay people to setup our tables or else they would be left stick and without cups/utensils. Restaurants, snack bars were constantly running out of food. Snack bar only served burgers and chicken fingers, but never actually had chicken fingers. Mexican themed night ran out of tacos and guacamole but 7pm. Restaurant staff never smiled and were clearly overwhelmed. You need to be pool side at 6:40 am in order to reserve 2-3 pool chairs. By day 2, we were only able to get a restaurant reservation for our 4th night there. I have booked Expedia VIP properties in the past, but this is the first time it felt like a downgrade. The wait staff said the Expedia section isn't cleaned as often. Expedia members would get smaller cups for cocktails. The only benefit was the faster checkin. While this property photographs and is priced like a premium resort, don't waste your money.

Booked all inclusive for a night and then all kitchens closed when we arrived at 11pm. Couldn’t get a single thing to eat. Asked for an hour late check out and they would not accommodate.

Krystel from Expedia made my husband birthday extra special! She checked-in with us dailty to see if she could be of any assistance,she sent complimentary wine and treats, she also assisted us with reservations for our family dining experiences. She was amazing with guiding us through our vacation and making sure we used all the amenities offered to us! She was ANAZING! It was my second time visiting Royalton Splash. This time we brought our kids for Springbreak & it did not disappoint. The staff was awesome. My kids loved the waterpark, MJ show, foam pool party, & everything in between. The food was great with awesome selections and dining restaurants. They do try to get you to do a breakfast to introduce their loyalty program, which alot of ppl was attending to get free gifts to use at the resort however we opted not to attend. Just wanted to spend all of our vacation enjoying the resort

We just got back from the resort as a group of 12 (6 adults, 6 kids). While the amenities were promising, the customer service was incredibly disappointing. Check-in took nearly 2 hours with minimal staff support. Our room was missing a sofa bed we had booked and we were given an uncomfortable rollaway instead, wasting most of our first day dealing with this issue. The next day, we discovered our room had ants — they even got in our kids’ diapers. We weren’t moved until 4 PM. At checkout, despite having a late checkout granted, we were unexpectedly being $35 and told to carry our own luggage, even with two small kids and a stroller. Others in our group weren’t treated the same, raising concerns about fairness. Staff were unprofessional, unhelpful, and at times rude. This is still a recently built property maybe 2-3 years old, therefore still relatively new. It is in a remote area of the town and not much around. The beach just not swimmable, do not expect like the other area of Cancun or the Caribbean. Staff and service are great but expect to wait for your services eg. food and room services. Restaurants are must prebook with reservations which was a challenge and fight for a table, we learned the hard way. Chairs by the pools are very hard to come by, you must be there by 6AM to mark your spot or else you will fight for a chair again. Doors are not soundproof therefore kids and teenagers running yelling around after 11PM will keep you sleepless. Other than that not bad, pick your poison.

Rooms are nice was very happy with our room Diamond club gets priority over dining.. hard to get a timeslot .. Sports bar didn’t have full menu 3 times we were there Staff not all very friendly ..

limited dining options for non DC member & if you can't wake up at midnight to make reservations each night. severely understaffed, service was extremely slow. spent 1 hr lining up for lunch (mobile truck for Burger & fries), ran out of ingredients to make pizza. Kids did love kids club & water park facilities.

Nice play area and water slides. Beach area was not the cleanest. Had to make reservations early for almost all restaurants. Had to get up at 6:00-7:00 am to reserve lounge chairs by the pool, otherwise they would all be taken.

This resort was definitely nicer than anticipated. I had went with my significant other and we were attended to the whole time. Other than the resort being quite far from the main road, we enjoyed the secluded area. The buffet was good, id just recommend getting there early if you want fresh food. The restaurants were alright, I recommend downloading the app to schedule reservations before hand. Our favorite was the Asian Cuisine. Many of the amenities you had to pay for, but everything else was included. I recommend booking your excursions through expedia, and downloading whatsapp to communicate with tour guides. The resort charges an arm and a leg for the excursions. Nonetheless, our Jonathan made our experience phenomenal there, it was my significant others birthday and I was able to set up a surprise room decor for him all thanks to Jonathan. The only downside was that the pool areas were always full, you would need to get there early to secure a seat. The staff at the bars were mainly nice and funny.
